Vixmom, I agree with you about it being nice that it was lighter at the end of the day.

Except it's been raining here so much that it was still merely gray. Just not pitch black.

Got my invite to Rachael Ray's house party during SXSW this year. Should be fun. Hoping I can get a pass to her music party, too.

I have accomplished everything I set out to do today :)

I would have liked to review "The Boys in the Boat" a bit longer to prepare for my discussion tomorrow.  I read it awhile ago.  I'm sure as we talk about it my memory will return, it usually does.

In The Spring Of the Year
We'll Gather Lilacs in the Spring

Larry, you could have made 14 posts out of this list.

The doctor today was pleased with the weight loss (25 pounds so far), but the nasty little cholesterol reading was nowhere near where it should be. I may eat vegetables three-quarters of the time, but it's apparently time to eat more of them.

DR TCB I am insecure enough to think if I said "No" once, they would stop asking.

Believe me, Jack, with your talent you would never have to worry about that.

Watching the Carol Burnett-Tracy Ullman version of Once Upon a Mattress. I had heard it was lousy, and it is, but the cast is surprisingly good. There's a lot to like, but the direction and choreography are both too soft.

However Jack, if they make an "educational DVD" of ANTIGONE; I think I will have to pass.

I thought I had a bit of a second wind going, but it seems to have got up and went.

TCB (and anyone else who might be interested), did you know that Titanic Chamber Revival Will Sail to Los Angeles?

Thank you, George.  I flew to New York just to see the first performance of the show with Larry's girlfriend Vicky Clark, but I doubt I will fly to L. A. for the revival.  But I do love the score.

If only Irving Berlin had written a Labor Day song, it would have been a much bigger holiday!

I don't really remember Easter being much of a holiday, other than the religious part of it.

And when I was really young, I remember having our picture taken with the Easter Bunny at some of the department stores.

I don't think that "tradition" even made it into the Sixties.

But it was the participation that I had in the Easter services when I was in high school, that I remember most.

I remember the year that I got to carry the cross round the track at the outdoor Sunrise Service.  At the time, Jeff Smith (later the Frugal Gourmet) was still a Methodist minister.  He was, I believe, the chaplain for the University of Puget Sound.

All of the Methodist ministers in town were doing the Sunrise Service together.

I was very excited that I was going to be doing the service with Jeff, because I had heard so much about him.

He was the rudest, most egotistical minister that I ever met.
