When we were first married we became great friends with two other couples that lived in our apartment building. Often, on summer evenings, we would pick up a Strawberry Glazed pie from Marie Callender's. The pies were delicious and the evenings fun.

Both inside and outdoors. Fortunately, the outdoor one is a deluge and not snow. Rain, I can take. I just hope it's being kind to vixmom.

As a kid, I loved my grandmother's rhubarb pie. I don't think I've had any since then. No, maybe a couple of times, but it was always strawberry-rhubarb. (Maybe hers was, too, I have no idea now.)

I've had a few good strawberry-rhubarb pies. My first was in PA which also brings back memories of delicious shoo-fly pies. I would purchase little pies from the Amish at a flee market. They were very sweet and I could not eat a full pie at one sitting.

I'm up, I'm up. I didn't get to sleep until three, and the phone rang twice at ten and that was that - same person calling and obviously a wrong number. Seven hours of sleep, I guess, and kind of a fun dream. I stayed in bed for a while, then finally got up.

Saturday afternoon greetings! Fun day at the book sale - the AAUW state president came from northwest Ohio to work this morning. She met many of our local members and 3 of us took her out to lunch. I am exhausted.

My car was not returned today.....so I have no transportation to the play.....others don't seem to be inclined to loan a vehicle for such an excursion....so no play.

I've finished the last Paint Your Wagon cue: 19 orchestra parts copied and ready to be handed to Joshie, who will duplicate them and make extra copies of the string parts.

As I worked, I listened to excerpts from Les Pecheurs des perles and Der Rosenkavalier and Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera and Knickerbocker Holiday.
