I seem to have DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE playing on TCM right now.

I love that movie!  The banshee scared the crap out of me as a kid. I miss those Disney days where kids were terrified at the movies.

I have a dear friend I've known for nearly 45 years, and I think the world of him.  I will mention no names but DR Ginny knows him.  He's on him second marriage, and I liked his first wife very much.  However, I cannot stand his current wife.  I do not like her, and I never want to be around her.  I'm due to see him soon to catch up, and I always worry that she will either tag along or I will get a lot of pressure about coming to New Jersey to visit for a weekend.

It's been raining pretty much all night and day since last night.  I wonder how much longer it'll last.

Probably until it stops.

That is always hard.  I hope is wife is absent.

Sorry to hear about Cillaliz's bronchitis. Bronchitis can be quite nasty and difficult to get rid of.

FEEL-BETTER-PRONTO VIBES TO CILLA!

Thanks Jeanne.

From DR Cilla:

I have made pumpkin pies from scratch, from pumpkin. But I've done more apple.   Not today though

Any other day I would have figured the pie was from scratch, but not yesterday or maybe today.  I hope I find you feeling better as I read the posts.
Oh, I know.  Actually, I've found store bought pumpkin is usually better than my homemade lol

DR Vixmom, next year you should have DR John judge the contest.

Sounds good to me! Wanna come to the Island of Long, John?

Long John Island.  What a thought!

Robert Durst was arrested in New Orleans today and will extradited to Los Angeles where he will face murder charges.

I watched the entire HBO documentary mini series......he's in trouble.

I am feeling better, thanks to all who asked.  I didn't take any medicine today and although I've coughed a little and been a little stuffed up, I'm doing ok without meds.  I'll see if I can sleep without it tonight.

Tell him HI for me when you get together!

I was having some nasty back and neck problems last week and was not fit to be around man or beast--or DRs. I'm hoping they're now under control.

The DR's?  Or your back and neck?

Back from our two-show day and exhausted.  The matinee was fantastic and that understudy did brilliantly - getting every laugh and rocking the house with her solo.

The second understudy, who only went on in the evening, just needed more rehearsal and time.  I'd given her some notes yesterday, but she wasn't in the place where she could really make them work as well as they needed to work.  She got through it (she was playing Sandy's role), and she was fine, but the character needed more fire - I must say, though, the other cast members notched it up so that nothing seemed amiss, which it really wasn't anyway.

I seem to have DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE playing on TCM right now.

I just finished watching "The Three Caballeros" on TCM.  I've never seen this and didn't realize that it's basically a musical travelogue of South America.  There's a lot of music and it's VERY colorful.  I'd never thought about this, but I noticed that it's an RKO picture.  When did Walt Disney Pictures or Buena Vista come into being?

I have the Stratas DVD,but I would want to watch it, not listen to it, as I worked.  I also have the Salzburg Festival DVD and the lousy Lupone-McDonald production from the Los Angeles Opera.  I want the Spanish production from Madrid, which is sung in English.

I got this 10-CD set of The Complete Recordings of Bert Brecht & Kurt Weill back in December.  It includes the 1956 complete(?) recording with Lotte Lenya on 2 CDs.

Just had to share. :)

I was a total vegetable today.  I had a whole To-Do List, but it was so rainy and windy that I couldn't get up the energy to get out of the recliner.

I just love the revival of SOUTH PACIFIC.  I could listen to this CD over and over again.

Not as classy as what Elmore was listening to today.  But he's a cultured Frenchman, I'm a little hick.
