I wasn't sure yesterday, since there's been gossip that ne would be done for about two weeks now, and I was really very happily surprised when it was announced today. I thought there would be some time for negotiations before something was definite or fell through.

While the show is basically sold out, I took a chance and went to the National Theatre to see if they were still running their lottery. Only about 7 people entered and everyone won! The seat I got was "partial view," but close (about the 7th row on the left side). At intermission I moved down two seats and the view was better (not that it was that bad earlier).

Yes, he is! He was great, as was the entire cast. Last Sunday there was an article in which the director (I think) was quoted as saying he wanted an all English cast this time.

There were quite a few people waiting at the stage door. The manager came out and announced that Miss Lansbury would not be coming out between shows. Since I'm also seeing the final performance next Sunday, I hope to see her then. My friend saw the show Wednesday night and took some great photos. She said that Dame Angela smiled and waved to everyone but didn't sign.

As I recall, Miss Lansbury did sign playbills in 2009 but didn't pose with people. My friend from Manchester was with me and Miss L. remarked on his accent.

Back from a good half-band rehearsal. Grant, of course, is under the weather and stayed home to rest. Our bass player got poked in the eye playing basketball so he wasn't with us either.

I have not been able to find a song list for the Encores presentation

Have a three questions about songs from the show. My info may not be a 100% accurate.

Take The Wheels Off The Wagon was added to the tour was it used in the Encores show?

Was the cut song called "What Do The Other Folks Do" rewritten as "What Do The Simple Folks Do"? for Camelot or are they just similar in title?

What songs (if any) replaced the cut songs "Muchee Good World" and "Shh"

It was a most excellent memorial, and my fears were unfounded....except that the slide show wasn't good.

A nice overflow crowd....seeing lots of cousins I hadn't seen in many years.....meeting second and third cousins.....

My cousin's (Linda's sister) grandson Zach gave the memorial talk, he was very good. A few of the grandchildren read some poems. They asked people to write down stories rather than opening the floor, which is probably a good thing....

Zach talked about Linda for about 20 minutes and then gave a "come to Jesus" preachment that asked us sinners to give our hearts to the Lord and give up our wanton ways....which several people behind me shouted a few AMENS to. And then it was over and time to fellowship.

All in all....we stayed another half hour....and it was nice.

So Linda was SRO and I am happy she isn't suffering among us anymore.....and whatever comes after, I am sure she is getting the best of it.

I am extremely pleased to read this. Services should be a comfort & not add to your grief.

They brought them here because of a need for labor when so many of the men were fighting over seas.
