Looks like a FUN party DR GINNY.  I like the book idea a lot!

Considering the cost of cards, DR JRand, I think the books were a great idea!

They were and your photos are just what I needed this morning.  They made me smile :)

I'm glad to hear that, DR Jane...

The internet service tech crew just left Toyland afdter replacing a bad cable.  We have internet again, and i can hopefully accomplish a few things in the next week. Now I'm off to proofread part of the Duck Finale.

And now it's been so long, I forgot my other game show story.

I just watched GOING CLEAR.....interesting and damning documentary about Scientology.....I have read the book.  The documentary is interesting and disturbing, as was the book.

OH....I remembered the story I was going to tell.

In the terrible syndicated version of To Tell the Truth...I think Larry Blyden was the host.....anyway....

Veronica Lake had published her autobiography - and she was on the show.  Two other blonde women pretended to be her.  Poor Veronica looked so bad....I guess a couple of the panelists recognized her....but another woman got two votes.

One of Jen's brilliant ideas was to ask people to bring a book instead of a card and inscribe it to Baby J.  His library is off to a great start!

That's a great idea, Ginny!  My favorite children's books were (and still are) "Frederick" and "Swimmy," both by Leo Lionni. :)

That show ought to run in Indiana.

I just received the Blu-ray of "Into the Woods"!  I won't be able to watch it until I get home tonight, after a TAO board meeting...but watch it, I will!

When we moved here we said we would experience country living for 10 years and then move into town.  Between the economy and or renovations we have been here 7 years longer than expected.

The house is almost perfect.  As beautiful as the grounds are it is time to have a small garden.  So what house was Keith most interested in today, the one with the most land and way too much work needed everywhere.

Why are you the most moving person I've ever met?

Except for our first home in Reseda and this house we moved because Keith either took a new job or was relocated by the company he worked for.

We did not want to leave our last home in Tiburon, however, in order to stay Keith could not have retired.  I lost my views of the Golden Gate Bridge and gained mountain views and Keith home all the time.  Not a bad deal at all.

Why aren't you moving back to your home town?

Cost of living.  I admit, we are spoiled.  Our home is worth a fraction of the cost for the same home almost anywhere back in our home town, without any land.  The areas we would consider, if price were not an option, are still a good distance to drive.

After looking at the homes in town, most of which had too many stairs just to get into the house, we will be checking out a few areas in Washington.  We could live on a lake or along the river.  Granted they aren't as pretty as the Pacific Ocean coast line, but then they are affordable.

We looked at a Craftsman style home today that was all custom woodwork with wonderful little touches throughout.  The quality was excellent and we enjoyed our tour.  We aren't planning to buy it.  For one, it has a detached garage.  After living having 2 homes on the east coast with detached garages I said never again.  Carries items to and from the car in the ice is dangerous, plus it is cold and wet for half the year.  This detached garage was poorly designed with multiple steps to go in and out.  They could have made a gradual slope instead.

The house Keith was most interested overlooked the creek in the park.  When we first moved here we kept telling our realtor we wanted to live there.  Unfortunately there weren't any homes for sale.

Another home we liked, on a street we have always wanted to live on, had tons of steps just to enter the house.  The driveway into the garage was a very odd angle.  I'm not sure I could park my own car there, or ever get out.

DR JANE she was known mostly of course for her long flowing hair hanging over one eye.

Without that allure....she was a fairly ordinary looking woman.

Hard living, disappointment, and alcohol took care of the rest....

She looks ok in the last photo, unless she was still young.

When I went blond in high school I wore banks over one eye and adults were always telling me I looked like Veronica Lake.

I found that to be an improvement over being told I looked like Mona Lisa because of my smile.  I was not happy the first time I saw what Mona Lisa looked like ;D

The first Lake movie I can remember seeing was I Married a Witch.  She was very cute in it.
