DR TCB - HAWKE was a Warner Bros. movie, so I doubt that the staircase was the one used in Universal's PSYCHO.

It's about the first musical in Shakespeare's time (1590) and how it all comes about. There is rivalry between Will Shakespeare (a God/Rock Star in his time) and Nick and Nigel Bottom, brothers running their own theatre after touring the provinces w/Will (who has become an arrogant, pompous boob).

My question for ASK BK Day:  have you heard any advance word on Cindy Williams' autobiography coming out May 1?

I thought Overdrive worked the same for everyone. I didn't realize a library could set it up to make returns impossible. What a silly way to operate. If I finish a physical book I always return it before the due date. I should be able to do that for e-books as well.

I agree that I think that you should be able to return a borrowed e-book early. Since I cannot borrow e-books from my library (they don't do kindle in Canada) I looked up if you could return library e-books early. And this is what i found.  This is exactly what i do to return a borrowed e-book from amazon early.

*******************************************
Return a Library Book
To return a library book before the loan period ends, visit Manage Your Content and Devices.

Since the length of a book loan is determined by the library, check with your public library to find out when to return a borrowed book. You'll receive a courtesy reminder e-mail from Amazon three days before the book is due and another e-mail when the loan period has ended.

To return a library book:

Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
From Your Content, select the Actions button next to the book that you want to return.
Select Return This Book, and then select Yes in the pop-up window.

DR TCB a number of my friends have taken a class at the library to learn how to use the Overdrive app and download free books from the library.  You might inquire if your library offers those classes.  It saves a lot of money on books and you can do it from home or anywhere with wifi.

I don't know why you should understand the conversation if you aren't currently using Overdrive.

From DR Ben:
Quote
That wasn't what I meant by my comment. I know that Overdrive works with Kindle. I'm saying that Overdrive lets you return e-pub ebook files which are different from Kindle book files. You cannot return a Kindle ebook once it's checked out but you can return an e-pub book when you've finished it. It's why I will not take a Kindle ebook if I have a choice between Kindle and e-pub.

Got it.  Yes, another reason I do not like using the Kindle app.  I read a popular book in several days and then it sat there for the full 21 days.  I felt very bad about this.

From DR George:
Quote
It must be the way my library has set up their OverDrive account, because once a title is checked out no matter what format (Kindle, pdf, epub, etc.), it can't be returned.  You can return a title after you hold is placed and you've been notified that it's available, but not once you've actually checked it out.

That's terrible.  These books take so long to become available as it is.  I thought the OverDrive app was the same everywhere, not by state.  That seems odd.

I can set my books to automatically check out.  Can you do this?  Also I was told that the OverDrive library was for all of Oregon, though sometimes my library has extra copies or none at all.  Is that the same in Washington?

I just had a thought.  Maybe DR George can't do it because he doesn't turn wifi on.

I don't believe I can return the books from my computer.  I always do it from my Nook.

Last night at we had a "goof" rehearsal, which I have never been a part of.  I don't know if it is peculiar to or to this director.  I was a bit skeptical, but I must say that it was most entertaining and the cast was fun to watch.

The most creative of them came through in a BIG way.  It was also a good bonding experience.....and it was very nice to see the people "outside the box" so to speak.  The lines and blocking had to be exact, but interpretation in voice and movement could be anything the actor cared to try.

Interesting.

I'm glad you had such a good time.

Kindle books come from Amazon. When Anthony borrows books from the library and chooses a Kindle, he is redirected to the Amazon Web site and the book is delivered to his Kindle Fire from there.

I knew about that but it seemed DR Jennifer was borrowing them through Amazon and not beginning with her library.

It is much easier to borrow an e-Pub book from the library.;D

I haven't, other than her having called me a year ago to tell me she was writing it and asking me some Nudie questions.

Phone rang at ten-twenty, so that was that for sleep - about seven hours thanks to some tossing and turning.

And I am back with a numb front of the mouth, having gotten a teeny filling on the back of a front tooth.  At least I think that's where it is.  Weird spot.  Anyway, I'm waiting till the numbness (I almost typed numbnuts!) completely goes away before eating something.  I don't trust my lower and upper teeth to keep from knocking into each other yet.

I don't.

I think it might have been called

When Things Were Rotten

not

Something Rotten

WTWR was a 1975 Mel Brooks television show about Robin Hood. Something Rotten is about Shakespeare and Theatre

You can borrow lendable e-books from someone who has purchased the e-book.  They can be lent once for 14 days.

I can't borrow e-books from my library (as they don't lend to kindle).  I borrow a lot of e-books (the lendable ones) from book friends who have bought the e-book I want. I lend them some and they lend me some.
