Balch & Stengler's PRESCRIPTION FOR NATURAL CURES recommeds the following for glaucoma:

Magnesium     250 mg 2x/day
Vitamin C       1000 mg 3-4x/day
Fish oil           600 mg EPA and 400 mg DHA 1x/day
Alpha lipoic acid   100 mg 2x/day
Bilberry          160 mg 2x/day
Ginkgo biloba   60 mg 3x/day
Chromium       250-500 mcg 2x/day
Grape seed extract 100-200 mg daily
Rutin              20 mg 3x/day

These are all nutrients that are valuable to your general health, as well--not just your eyes. The fish oils are good for pain relief, too.

My question for ASK BK Day.....what is your favorite Olympic sport?

I always enjoy watching the ice dancing.  The pairs skating always seems to be about the jumps and too many couples attempt jumps that they're not ready for, so they tend to fall.  Ice dancing is graceful and the skaters don't have to worry about landing the jumps.

Ice dancing in the winter and men's diving in the summer.

The U.S. figure skating squad won "team Gold" this past week.  Now that the Olympics have a "team" competiton in figure skating, there is also a world team competition.   Don't ask me how we won 'cause I'm not sure.  Our individuals did well in the short programs (Tracy Gold led all women, including the Russians).  Not so well in the long but ENOUGH to maintain the scoring lead for the Gold Medal.  It's notable that Jeremy Abbott was not on hand to screw the pooch again.   Jason Brown and Max Aaron represented the men.

Facebook is becoming more and more politically loony with lots of stupid stuff being said about a lot of stupid things.

I've been unfollowing like made.  Unfriending, too.

Well, it's time for me to leave work and drive my friend Margo to the airport.  After I drop her off, I plan on going up to Seattle to Silver Platters to see if there's anything that I want to buy.  I haven't been in an actual "record store" in several years.  It'll be nice to browse through an actual section of a store that's nothing but musicals!

Be back later!

The rain that was in the forecast has apparently passed us by.  It's nice having the windows open.

TCB:  To answer your question, Ed Asner and his scene partner, George Newbern, were very good in their scene from "Tuesdays with Morrie."

We have had a very nice day and have done a lot of walking.  I am doing my afternoon icing of my toe that remains swollen

DR Ginny, how is your toe?

That is all!!!!  You are sooooo lucky!  I feel like I am going to hurt and limp fir the rest of my life.  Mine also burns at time and I can't even wear my newer, cushioned, tennis shoes.

Dear BK,

If you could chose the musical for the live performance on television, which musical would you choose?

And a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to dear reader Sandra, who I don't believe has been around these here parts for two or three YEARS now.

SORRY.

Tomorrow, I will be in outpatient surgery bright and early. I will keep you updated as to the results. I'm a bit embarrassed, but a friend of mine had me enroll on GoFundMe so I could raise money toward my medical bills and copayments, especially my upcoming abdominal surgery in June.

DR Jane, I don't think my injury was nearly as severe as yours.  And I haven't tried any hiking or sustained walking.  Sometimes a long trip around a big grocery store is enough for me.
