Today is a pretty exciting day for Montreal soccer.  They are the first club from Canada in the Champions League finals.  There are going to be 60K+ fans here tonight at the stadium.  If they win or tie 0-0 they will win.  They are definitely the underdogs by a lot.

Good Luck to Montreal Soccer!

Happy Birthday VIXTER!

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
May the Lord keep you in His hand
And never close His fist too tight.

My very close (not varicose) friends who have all but officially adopted me since my Mom passed away in 2007, their Mom just passed away. I got to know her for almost 6 years, the time I've been here in Arizona, and she was quite remarkable for her 100 years, although there's no contemporaneous birth certificate.

Here's her obituary which is in the latest edition of the once-weekly local paper, The Parker Pioneer. I was surprised by being acknowledged by her family for my efforts in arranging a traditional priest to officiate a High Latin Funeral Mass for Mrs. McCabe. I just did it as my way to honor her life and memory since I knew that I could not be there in person. Parker is about 5 hours by car, on a good day, from Tucson.

DR Elmore warned me that the movie is sad, but I watched ZORBA THE GREEK last night and of course he is totally right.
I don't suppose I'd seen it except maybe once in the intervening years since its release.  I saw it in the theater as a teen who most certainly didn't pick up on the real grit of the story then.
What a beautiful film.  They don't make 'em like that.  And it's on a fine Blu-ray.  I'll spin it again soon to listen to the director's commentary.
Told you!  That film is bleak!
I guess it's a good thing I like me some bleak now and then!      :)

I'm glad you said something. I was just about to recommend this:

Tummy vibes to BK!

I had the Turmoiled Tummy the other night. I swear I don't know what brought it on or what got rid of it.

"The Turmoiled Tummy"...that's got to be the title of some lurid murder mystery or something.

Oy!  I just spent an hour trying to explain to someone that just because pot is legal in CO it doesn't mean you can sell it in Iowa.

DR Jane.  Thanks.  Now I just need to figure out how to use the trimmers that are in my garage.  They came with the house.   I could pretty much trim with my old mower, but not with this one, so I'm going to have to learn,.

I'm up, I'm up - I fell asleep around two-thirty maybe and slept until just now - the morning is gone as is one hour of the afternoon.  Amazing.  At least ten hours of sleep.  Not sure how I feel but at least I got through the night without an issue.

And I am home for a moment.  Joshie kept me hopping today with fixes and adjustments.

Now i am off to meet my foundation colleague for coffee.  I wanted to take hm to dinner, but he's got a dinner date. We'll catch up on the foundation mess and then I'll return home.

Turns out Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the Annies when he was conducting.  I wonder if there's any film/video of her doing it.

Have you heard the Sondheim song "Cheri" that was cut in favor of Ah! Paris!

MR BK is obviously unaware that the Bulgar 101- 3 Strings Orchestra released a recording of the entire Friedrich von Lowensteinmuellermitterbech collection on a budget LP in 1961.

The entire other side contained Bulgarian covers of Elvis Presley tunes.
