Back from a chicken salad sandwich and the disturbing and upsetting news that the helper is going away for three months to be with her new boyfriend in England.  He's been here for the past two.  She'll be back in October and assures me she'll find a replacement and train them before she leaves.  I hate change, as most know, and I never really have to worry about anything with the helper, so as long as she finds me someone who's trustworthy and not a flake and who will just continue like the helper so that I don't have to worry about anything, it will be fine.

I am home from all errands.  My test was negative, but I expected it to be.

So what next, elmore?

I am just having continued toe issues, plus my eye hurts.  It is likely due to lack of sleep.  I almost called the eye doctor yesterday to get it checked and decided not to.  It then, of course, was worse by last night.

I wish the little boy upstairs would go  out and play on the freeway!  He runs back and forth across the living room and dining room.  AND he is very hyper, or he is studying to be a Flaminco dancer!!

The rep for the moving company came back out to re-do our estimate.  Our hard work these last weeks has paid off.  We dropped our weight about 5,000 pounds.

My fear about buying on the bottom floor.  I hope the boy isn't running around when you want to sleep.

In the Canvas MOOC class I'm taking, this week's assignment was to (for the beginner) write a pantoum. I wrote one and the students who left comments seemed to like it. I think it still needs work, but I am my own worst critic:

Changeable weather, clouds and rain,
Cold and snow, ice and slush,
Longing for days to soothe my pain
Swathed by plants, green and lush

Cold and snow, ice and slush
Were familiar friends when I was young
Swathed by plants, green and lush
I would hear the tunes the birds had sung

Where, familiar friends when I was young
No longer near but moved away
I would hear the tunes the birds had sung
Memories held close yet kept tears at bay

No longer near but moved away
As years go by, I can’t complain
Memories held close, yet keep fear at bay
Changeable weather, clouds and rain

Wow, I think that is very good; but don't take my word.  I know nothing about poetry.

I wasn't familiar with the term pantoum. But I always love your use of language, DR Dan M!

Entirely too many medical vibes are needed around these parts.

If you ask me.

Nevertheless (that's one word!), they are offered to all, and most sincerely.

Tonight I am off to Orchestra Hall to hear a concert conducted by Eric Whitacre. He is the currently the cat's pajamas on the American choral scene.

That kid should be placed with the guy upstairs I have to deal with. They are either the clumsiest people or the most rude, or both. His girlfriend-- they're both maybe 20-- is about the graceless young woman I have ever seen. She's always carrying around the notorious red plastic cup, which may indicate beverages other than the soft variety if you catch my drift. ::)

Well, ABC cancelled "The Taste" which is a step in the right direction. Some of the chefs on that show were intolerable boors. Particularly the guy with the orange crocs.

ABC, on the other hand, is bringing back some retooled "adult" version of "The Muppet Show". With the way the networks bring back old shows and ruin them, I'm not holding out hope. CBS's remake of "The Odd Couple" is terrible.

I've never even heard of "The Taste."  So there was "The View," "The Chew," "The Talk" AND "The Taste"?

Real originality there :P (except for "The View," which was the first).

The Taste is different from The Chew. Both shows are/were broadcast on ABC. The Chew is still on in the afternoon but The Taste, a cooking competition show has been cancelled.

Back from looking at two spaces.  The first was very nice and the second would work but we'd have to rent chairs and the neighborhood is disgusting.  So, it's either the first place I saw today or The Grove where we did Inside Out.  The place today is more convenient - it's actually just two blocks south of The Federal.

In February of this year, there were a bunch of news items that gas would reach its lowest price in years and years this year.  Since that announcement, gas prices have risen 1.00.  The government really needs to step in at this point and threaten these companies - once they do, down, down, down prices will go.  One DOLLAR higher in three months.  Not acceptable.

Most of the price of gas is tax from local, state and federal hands. The largest tax shares are from local and state. My guess is that Gov. Brown raised gas taxes.
