Page Three Topic of the Day:

I've never made this myself, but a co-worker did for a potluck here at work and it was delicious!  And coincidentally, a friend and former co-worker (a different co-worker than the one who made this) posted this on FB just a couple of hours ago!

Quote
Double Chocolate Coca Cola Cake

1 cup Coca Cola (real thing, not diet)
1/2 cup oil
1 stick butter
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting:

1 stick butter
3 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons of cream or milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 3/4 cups confectioner's sugar

In a saucepan, mix Coca Cola, oil, butter and cocoa and bring to a boil. In another bowl, combine the sugar, flour and salt. Pour the boiling Cola mixture over the flour mixture and beat well. Add the eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla and beat well. Pour mixture into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees or 20 to 25 minutes. Remove pan. Cool for about 10 minutes before frosting.

Frosting: In a saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa, and milk. Heat until the butter melts. Beat in the remaining ingredients and spread on the cake while it's still warm. Enjoy!

DR bk, sorry to hear that there were so many no-shows. What happened to people keeping their word? But, otherwise the show sounds to have been a success! Congratulations to Sami, Bruce, and Alby! A great achievement considering that 2/3rds of the team were fighting through ailments of one kind or another during development and rehearsals.

I got an additional hour of sleep, went to the theater, then had a sandwich and no fries or onion rings.  Now I must relax.

I tried, but failed to get into a decent nap this afternoon.  Which can only mean one thing.  I'll doze right off while watching or reading something this evening.

Definitely a day when you can boil your giblets on the sidewalk.

It's 100 degrees but feels like 101 degrees, which makes a big difference.

Ub Iwerks made this cartoon (1935). He was really the brains behind Walt Disney. Iwerks also helped special effects in live action pictures. He was responsible for the bird animations in THE BIRDS as well as the "blue screen" effects which in that case were "yellow screen" as sodium lights were used:

Paint Your Wagon isin the can. It's going to be good.  I am hme, starving, and pondering what to do about it.

DR Ginny, we have no floor mats so you would still have to go to Staples. The recrdng will be released in the fall, I believe.

DR ChasSmith, McGlinn's books and scores are the only things going to storage in PA So far, no one's responded to my offer of free office equipment, although Chelsea Music may take the large binding machine.

LOGORAMA an animation made up of logos:

https://vimeo.com/10149605

Managed to get two thirds of the way through, until I accidentally clicked back. My current desktop is not really that efficient anymore. Say an ad pops up, it fools you into thinking you can actually get it off just by clicking close, but what it actually does is click on the video or the tools below it, as if there was something trying to pull it down quickly.

My current desktop is about 10 years, or more. I had a newer one (a 2008 one maybe) and had it for about 4 years, while watching a video on Vimeo, it started to glitch. The glitch was so bad that blew my whole system and the whole thing caught on fire. I'm looking in to finding a more reliable one, the newer ones are a perfect example.

It's just simply amazing what you can do with just a bunch of logos, and it looks like the FAC mastered that quite impressively.

That's really cool, Dan!  I'll have to watch it when I get home.  However, when I first read your post, I thought it said "LEGORAMA an animation made up of legos" and when the video started, I thought to myself that those don't look like Legos. ::)

Jack the vixter and I enjoyed little women but we both thought that if we were directing a local production that we would have different actresses for young Amy and grown Amy   We also would have different actors for the imaginary characters not double p the parts like they did on broadway
