But the last couple times a dentist--a different dentist--has dumbed me I felt completely wiped out afterwards.

I'm afraid to ask how they do that...

Mercury retrograde sure does weird stuff. I haven't confirmed this yet, but from all I've seen and rumors I've heard and the fact I haven't been contacted, all signs point to my oncologist having left the University of Arizona, which would be sad if true. But not entirely surprising since Banner Health took over the University of Arizona Health System, including the hospital and treatment centers I go to. There have been nudgings to make some doctors leave. Some are jumping over to the "other" hospital in the city. The U of A had been run as a non-profit. With Banner, it's now a for-profit hybrid or something, and as with business takeovers, I'm sure there's lots of brooms sweeping through the corridors.

DR ChasSmith, I'm happy to hear about 1776 which had been my tradition to watch over the Fourth of July holiday. I've sort of affixed certain movies to times of the year. Obviously 1776 for July 4. SEVEN DAYS IN MAY during the first week of May. The original PLANET OF THE APES and its first sequel with James Franciscus I've always liked at the end of May/beginning of June. I think that's when they would be broadcast by ABC for the 4:30 movie. There are also other movies that I can't watch at certain times of the year. But, I can watch Christmas movies any time of the year. Just because.

That is indeed sad news. But, fortunately, you are CANCER-FREE. Good timing! I'm sure he'd like to hear from you occasionally.

George is only 11 away from 50,000.

Hw should we commemorate this millstone?

But since I'm leaving work now, the momentous moment will have to wait.

Be back later! ;)

DR George might your sister have an extra tv you can borrow for awhile?

No, she doesn't...but I can watch TV up in my bedroom and use my tablet for Internet, so I'm not completely deprived. ;)

Had a fun rehearsal without two of our performers, and then a really fun post mortem dinner where we discussed how we proceed from here and what my needs are from Sami, and then I actually read them all the Doug Haverty notes, and we all pretty much felt they were things that we should not do.  Sometimes you just have to go your own way and if everything works you've created something maybe a little fresh and new in terms of structure and presentation.  However, as sometimes happens, a couple of his notes, while things I would never do, led me to think of two interesting things that I might do - if I hadn't gotten the notes I'm not sure my brain would have gotten from there to where it's led now.  I'm going to try those tiny adjustments in the writing and see how it feels.

My family switches between watching "1776" and "Independence Day" each 4th of July.  This year, it MUST be "1776"!  My sister has a Blu-ray player and big HD TV, so we can all watch it there.

And speaking of Rob Berman (I'm sure Larry was at some point)...Dames at Sea Will Sail Into Broadway's Helen Hayes; Creative Team Announced!

Here are a couple of excerpts:
Quote
With a book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, music by Jim Wise, and music supervision and vocal and dance arrangements by Emmy Award winner Rob Berman, Dames at Sea is described as "a tap-happy gem of a show that celebrates the golden era of movie musicals with dazzling dames and a heart as big as the ocean! Ruby steps off a bus in Manhattan, and into her first Broadway show, but hours before the opening night curtain is to rise, the cast learns their theater is being demolished, so it is 'all hands on deck' to find a stage to put on the show."

And:

Quote
“This is a triple-threat American musical comedy with a funny, witty book and a wonderfully tuneful score. It's the first time in New York that Dames at Sea will be heard with an orchestra, and the show will have more dancing than ever before with all new dance and vocal arrangements by Rob Berman," said director/choreographer [Randy] Skinner, "and the Helen Hayes Theatre is the perfect fit for our show."
