TOD:

croquet
badminton

When I was a kid, our family played both of these, but we only owned a badminton set.  Friends of the family owned a croquet set.  But other than those, not really anything else.

I woke up at 3:30am this morning and a received a very sad text message. A friend's husband died this morning. I don't have all the details but they transferred to another hospital so he could be operated on at 3pm yesterday and he had been taken off the ventilator.

I was there at the beginning of their relationship. We both worked together when it was Kinkos and he was a customer. I even introduced them.

I'm so sorry, Michael.  My condolences to you and your friend.

What would happen if we all ordered lime croquettes and chicken rickeys?

DR vixmom, halfway through the GOT disc, it froze, and I have no idea what will happen next. So, I'm on hiatus while the new disc arrives.  I will rely on you when I get back to it.

I've been trying to record the last five episodes of G.o.T. from OnDemand for a friend and all three of the episodes that I've done so far have stopped in the middle of the playback!  What's that all about?  I had to record episodes 6 and 7 twice each, but today I set up episode 8 for the FOURTH time!  I don't know what's going on...unless somehow they now can tell that I'm recording them and are taking measures to prevent that, but I've never had this problem before.

My doctor informed me yesterday that I'm going to need surgery in a couple of weeks.

I have a tear in the Achilles tendon of my left foot and it needs to be repaired or it could rupture.  Post-surgery, I'm told that I will be hobbling around for the better part of a year.

Bummer!

(Please, no jokes on MY LEFT FOOT.)

We have another new favorite restaurant.  This one has a delicious veggie bean burger and great coleslaw.

About 2:30 and hungry, I went out for a late lunch, but the main boulevard near my house was closed! What? Why? I had to circle around, but managed to have a nice lunch. I'm told that President Obama is in the area. And tomorrow it will be Hillary. Sigh.

Jeanne, you were asking about the mobile home (not trailer) park.  There is a very nice senior park (over 55 only) in Puyallup, which is just east of Tacoma.  It is called San Souci Mobile Estates.  It probably has around 200 homes.  It has a pool and exercise equipment, and a large meeting hall where they hold a lot of activities (i.e. pot lucks)  The people there tend to watch out for their neighbors, which can be a good thing.

Do people make a distinction between "mobile home park" and "trailer park"? I thought the term "mobile home" was just marketing jargon. But the place you describe sounds very nice.

I feel like crap today.  I have a bad cold. Who gets colds in the summer? :(

Tuesday i had a tickle in my throat. Yesterday my nose was running a bit. Today i have a bit of a cough and my nose is running like crazy.  please go away!

Btw, I am pretty sure it is a cold, but my sister was wondering if it could be allergies. I really don't think so (i would think more itchy eyes). But how do you know for sure if you have a cold and not allergies?

It can be very difficult to tell. Allergies can manifest in any number of ways. I've found that Sambucol can work for both.

I am in love with the Muslim lady managing the copy center at my local Staples.  She is so fantastic at her job and she puts up so well with my madness.  I just got from Dan the 3rd edit of Act One of Gentlemen, Be Seated! in 13 pdf files.  I burned a CD-rom and took it to her.  Within 30 minutes i left with two 2-sided copies of Act One ready for me to head to Columbia to edit with the full orchestra score.

If I ever get back to a recording office, I'm going to hire her to be the office manager.  She is wonderful.

Glad you found someone so competent and pleasant. My local Staples has a very patient and pleasant woman in the copy center. I wonder where they find them? Cloning would be helpful.

My cast was walking on eggshells after the "know your set" tirade.....but they made their entrances and exits correctly!

Good to hear!

Take an antihistamine and see if your symptoms go away

Going to miss the ball game tonight.  The shot today is making me feel not so good.  It will pass, but I think I need to stay home and rest
