I am sure I wouldn't like it, as a composer, if my film score were replaced. But I suppose the original composer still gets paid.

For the TOD, there was one (not spoken of much these days) that really made me jump called SEE NO EVIL starring Mia Farrow, which we saw at Radio City Music Hall back in the day when a movie and a full radio City show cost less than two dollars.  There was a scary moment involving a close-up of the villain's boots that particularly got the Radio City audience all abuzz.

I seem to recall that the Radio City live shows were staged with the family audience in mind (the Rockettes legs notwithstanding) but parents bringing their kids would be amazed at the mature content of the films.

FJL beat me to it.  SEE NO EVIL.  I only discovered it a few years ago.  I got the DVD, and I've only watched it once so far.  My impression was that it was WAIT UNTIL DARK on steroids.  The suspense put me through the wringer and Farrow was absolutely incredible in it.  I think it's time to watch it again and see what I think now.

But I love WAIT UNTIL DARK, both the film and on stage.  I've actually only seen it done once, in a community theater production.  I was blown away by how good that was, and by how a certain iconic bit works on stage when pulled off correctly.  I can tell you that it packs a wallop.

I discovered an interesting Kindle bonus the other day. Because I bought the hardcover version of Steven Suskin's book on Broadway orchestrators and orchestrations (The Sound of Broadway Music) when it first came out (what was it, $50? $60?), it gave me the option to add the e-version to my Kindle for only a couple of bucks more.

But it you haven't bought the hardcover, you can buy the Kindle version for less than $15. This wasn't available as a standalone when the book was first issued.

Good morning, all!  I am down and rather unhappy today.  I had an unsettling dream that highlighted all of my insecurities and everything crashed.  I finally decided around noon, after debating about never getting out of bed at all, to get up, get to work and go on. Now I'm debating whether or not I made the right decision.

More coffee might help.

VIBES the mood picks up as the hours pass, DR Elmore.

I've had similar enough experiences to know how tough that is to pull out of.  But you will.

Of the titles already mentioned, I've only seen "Psycho."  I did love it.

IT'S A BODY BUILDING CONTEST!  Fake tans for DAYS!  And fortunately only a couple of people who really seemed too full of themselves.  Most have either been nice or just indifferent.  I don't know if they have an opinion about a very large man selling candy at their body building contest. ;)

Not my concern.
