We are settled into our room in the landmark (aka OLD) building of the Westin St. Francis on Union Square.  Actually the old part of the hotel has been modernized and our room is quite comfortable.

We dropped our bags and headed for the convention center to get registered and scope things out a bit.  Took the shuttle (thanks, Keith!) back to the hotel and went across the street for a nice lunch.  Chilling until it's time to get a taxi to the pier where we meet our sunset dinner cruise.

Glad to hear that DR Cillaliz is starting to feel better.

Ditto. I hope Cilla can soon forget the whole ordeal and sleep peacefully.

More toe vibes for Keith.

I'm glad you found a podiatrist you like so quickly. Finding new doctors and dentists is one of the hardest parts of relocating, IMO.

Boy, two bad Supreme Court decisions for John Boehner, Justice Scalia, and their scumbag cronies.  Anything that puts their panties in a bunch just perks me right up.

I misread that as, "We are settled into our room in the laundromat."  Sigh.

Actually, I think your whole trip sounds quite delightful, DR Ginny.

Well, I must be off.  I'm ushering for a local dance studio's end of year recital, I've Got the Music in Me.  I'm bringing my Kindle, just in case I'm not interested in watching any of it. ;)

Until later.

Just took a huge jump to 48%.  I have high hopes for more such miracles over the next three days.  We just had our third $2,500 contributor.  And I'm still praying that some wealthy benefactor will come in at the last minute and take us where we need to go.

Had a good meeting, picked up some packages, then went to Hugo's and had a small Caesar salad and pasta papa.

Thank you.  I know, we got really lucky.  I asked her for the names of other doctors.

We had a suite there on our honeymoon for $75.  That was a lot of money back then.

I went out with my friend and a few of her friends to toast the events of the day and to listen to a great local jazz singer.
