Just got finished watching "A Canterbury Tale" from Powell and Pressburger. Great movie. Really affecting. I found myself getting choked up at the end.

My only problem was that there seemed to be a sound problem with this particular disc.

I think the pride paraders must have gotten quite damp.

I looked at Gregg Notehand manuals on Amazon. They are mostly out-of-print and/or quite pricey.

I know Gregg shorthand and machine shorthand.

Too bad I threw away my books years ago. If only we had known about ebay back then ...

Great ALA day for me - 3 good sessions, completed the larger exhibit hall and about 2/3 of the smaller one.  Tomorrow I have a breakfast meeting at the SF outpost of DR Ben's employer and one session with time in between to finish the exhibits.

Funny BK should mention the initials thing. Just this morning I was reading an Amazon review, which used "NBD".  NBD?? It took me a moment: no big deal. I don't think it's just that people don't want to take the time to type out complete words. A surprising number of people these days seem to have a vocabulary of not more than a dozen words or phrases. The fast food approach to communication, ie, a very limited menu.

After the first episode of DANCING ON THE EDGE, I kept thinking, "Stephen Poliakoff wrote this? This is a real departure for him." But I now see Poliakoff the writer in it.

The composer, Adrian Johnstone, is not someone I was familiar with. He's not new to film scores, though. What great music he created for this film!

Thanks Jeanne.  I did skip the ball game tonight.  Laundry is done.  I am feeling a bit better and may go freeze the rest of the cherries I picked yesterday.

I started watching THE NIGHT OF THE GENERALS and had to backtrack twice because I'd get the drowsies and start falling asleep.  Finally decided this wasn't meant to be the day for it.  Will enjoy it tomorrow.
