Well, ALA 2015 is history, at least for me.  My last day started with a nice breakfast meeting at the SF outpost of DR Ben's employer.  I then finished the exhibits and listened to a Google guru talk about information-seeking.  Met up with Richard and we came back to our room, packed up our loot, and took it to FedEx to ship home.

FedEx is in the lobby of the Hilton, along with a Starbucks, so we decided to relax there and have coffee.  As I was putting away my wallet after placing our order, a homeless guy panhandled me INSIDE THE LOBBY OF THE HILTON.  When I got back to Richard with our beverages and told him about it he complained to the doorman who said the guy had already been thrown out.  Don't think we'll be staying in that hotel any time soon...

We walked to Powell & Market so Richard could see them turn the cable car and then back to our hotel.  Went to the diner up the street for burgers and now we're in for the evening.

The BRAT diet is really more for the runs.

I know but they are both hard on my stomach which is why I don't get how it works.

Good luck with your ulrta sound!!!

Really?  I really do feel good when I eat the diet

Maybe I should give it another try.

And it's applesauce not apples.  Cooked apples have pectin which is what you're trying to get.

Cooked apples are easier to digest than raw. I didn't realize cooking also gave them pectin.

I believe I could live on chunky applesauce.  I love it

I should add it to my shopping list.

It tastes like home made.  I really should just make it

What brand is it?
Oh I just get Musselman's it's made with high fructose corn syrup so if you avoid that you may want to try a brand that doesn't use it

I am trying to avoid high fructose but it is difficult-lol

Don't know if it gives them pectin or releases the pectin, but that's what I read when researching the diet

I will be E & T all day tomorrow because we're catching the 8:15am ferry to Vallejo to meet my grad school friend Ann.  She's offered to be our "designated driver" for a winery day in Napa.

Two hours left.  We're still going up - slowly - but going up.  Hopefully the final hour will see a big burst of speed to the finish line.

I just read that comedian Jack Carter has died.

I was his publicist for seven (7) years.

 :(

That's sad, but wow, not a short life.

Interesting...IMDb links to an article with the title, "Jack Carter, Emmy-Nominated Comic Actor, Dead at 93."  However, his IMDb listing says that he was born June 24, 1923, which would make him 92.  BUT, Wikipedia says that he was born in 1922, which would make him 93 years old.

Hmm. ::)

This is a very weird movie. It was filmed on one of those elaborate, sculpted French estates, but it seems to be a filmed version of the play. Somehow. There was one shot of a modern-dress audience watching, but that never plays into movie. Wonder if it was just a mistake on the director's part.

Anyway, Fiona Shaw is wonderful. But she always is.

I always thought that that was weird, too, but I otherwise enjoyed the movie.  I love the musical version.  A local theater group did the musical and it was wonderful.

Thus far we have 360 contributors (not really quite that many as several people have made multiple contributions to get to higher perk levels).  If we, in our final ninety minutes, could get another forty contributors we could end up much higher than we are :)
