TOD:
I'm so sorry Mark and I have missed the last three Kritzerland shows in a row. It's just been one thing after another. I have no idea who Andre Previn is, but I don't think there's anything that could stop us from attending the next show.
But if you decide to put Mr. Previn on the shelf, I'd like to see a show based on Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Martin Guerre).
Or how about doing a show based all on calendar songs, ie. songs about days of the week, months of the year, or seasons.

Monday morning greetings!  Today I have my second appointment with Wendy, the nail stylist who did my July 10 manicure that lasted all through the trip to California.  It needs attention, but still looks presentable.  Today she'll attend to my fingernails and do my first ever pedicure.

I hope she isn't using the gel polish that could give you cancer.

DR Jane, I'd read some of the scary stories about gel manicures and chickened out once before. On July 10 I did have a shellac manicure (similar to gel) because I wanted it to last a long time.  But today I'm going to have her do just a regular one to see how durable it is.  She also did one of my thumbnails in acrylic to see how I liked it - the jury is still out...

I am home from Columbia, very tired, a little pissed at my assistant on this project for not making all the corrections from my last edit, and a bit unhappy because it's such a struggle some days.  i'm on the laptop; my computer refuses to join the internet at the moment.

I need a new computer and I cannot afford one. I need a new will and I cannot afford one. I need life insurance and I seem to do nothing but jump through hoops.  Sometimes death seems such a good option.

And no, I'm not suicidal, just displeased that it's the best option I currently have.

TOD

Songs from various versions of Alice in Wonderland
Songs from musicals based on the works of Charles Dickens
Songs that DID NOT WIN the Academy Awards. (There is a wealth of material there)

BK, weren't you thinking about doing a Kritzerland show based on either the Cinderella or Peter Pan compilation CDs that you produced?  You could present them like radio dramas with sound effects and people just standing at music stands.  That would be cool...unless royalties would have to be paid for each show.

Or the musicals that won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.  There are eight, plus "Oklahoma!" which won a special Pulitzer Prize, separate from the regular drama prize.

Oddly -- and this is a real coincidence -- I was going through my soundtrack LPs yesterday.  It's part of my master project in seeing what I've got that's important, what I can get rid of, etc.  Anyway, discovered I had a beautiful copy of Previn's TWO FOR THE SEESAW which I'd never listened to, and I don't think I ever saw the movie either.  Played a few tracks, and it's great.  (Mono copy of a stereo release, but hey.)

ChasSmith, did you know that Kritzerland released Two For the Seesaw?  It's (of course) out of print, but you can get copies from Amazon market sellers for as little as $59.99!

;)

Great catch, sir.  I had completely neglected to check the CD shelves, and ... there it is.   :)        Oy.

The above, ladies and gentlemen, is precisely why I keep Excel spreadsheets of my shiny silver discs.  I never got around to making a database of the records, but I have done quite well at it in the era of CDs, LDs, DVDs, and BDs.  That's a lot of Ds.

The reason was to have something to carry around with me when attending record sales and the like, so that I'd know what I've already got, and/or what should be replaced if a better copy comes along.  Well, the record one never happened.  And that would have necessitated carrying printouts around with me back then.

So I finally got smart and took the time to enter everything else into Excel, and now I'm able to check my lists, which I keep on Google Drive, via smartphone whenever necessary.

So then, back to the current project.  I've got BK's presentation of TWO FOR THE SEESAW -- so do I hang onto the record?  Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no.  It just depends on how I feel about the record.  This one, I don't know, but since getting rid of it won't make a dent, I'll probably keep it.

Here's another that I DIDN'T forget I had:  ONE-EYED JACKS.  I had the LP, but it happened to be in condition that didn't warrant keeping it.  And of course it helped that BK's notes on it were pretty revealing in regard to how poorly it had been mastered back in the day.

DR ELMORE sometimes they have interesting computers at Goodwill.....though you may have to add an operating system.  If you have all the restore discs from your current computer....that should work.

For musical cast recordings, soundtracks to movie musicals (not just any soundtrack, mind you), and other musical theater related recordings, I discovered CastAlbums.org.  You create a profile, search to find the recordings that you have or want, and then you can click on the + sign next to the image of the release that you have or want, then click "Add to Collection" or "Add to Wish List."
