Well, you've read the notes, the notes were strident and fishy, and now it is time for you to post until the strident cows come home.

A soft, gentle rain.  But there might be thunderstorms later.

I have to drop my car off at the service place because something is wonky with the power steering.  Oy!

Great find, about the Coffee Dan's.  Incredible that there were those two just a few blocks apart.  Which building or storefront was the Cahuenga one in?  I wonder if all three Hollywood ones ever existed at the same time, since the Vine St. one was gone before BK discovered them and before that place mat was printed.  Questions, questions, questions.

I'm trying to figure out where that one in Redondo Beach would have been.  I don't remember "Five Points" as a designation, and the World Wide Web isn't helping me on that.  The place mat map makes it look like the pier and marina area, but it's hard to tell with those things.  My other guess is the "Riviera Village".

Good morning, all.

Crazy day ahead dance Pilates at 10, classes at 1 and 2, followed by a dance at 8.

Well it RAINED a LOT at the show last night.  It was quite a monsoon during the hour before the show....but we had a big audience, and everyone seemed to like the show.  No one left.....it continued to rain off and on.

Tonight is closing night and strike!

Thanks to JohnG for the link to Lucie Arnaz and Robert Klein singing "They're Playing Our Song!"   DR Kate and I both loved the Cast Album and the show.  I think I saw it 3 times, once with Stockard Channing.

And thanks to DR George for the 1960 Tony Awards link.  I watched parts of it and was really surprised at some of the nominees.  While I knew that Mary Martin beat Ethel Merman for the Best Musical Actress Tony I had no idea that Carol Burnett was nominated in the same category.

TOD:

Probably something I read in a book or a magazine....I was aware of such a circumstance since I was small....but didn't have a name for it until I read something.  It certainly wasn't anything in the movies or on television!

Good morning, all!

This has been an awful morning, so there must be some planets in collision.  In the past hour, this has all occurred:
   1.  I accidentally canceled by physical exam appointment on Monday during an automated telephone reminder
   2.  I nearly started a fire in the kitchen
   3.  An unexpected computer repair charge this morning took the repair total to $430 and wiped out the small amount i had in the bank. There's a check coming in but i won't see it before Wednesday or Thursday

I am wondering if I should go back to bed and stay there until then.

I have no plans for today, so I'll work on Gentlemen, Be Seated! fixes.  I am meeting my friend Wayne for dinner at 6:00 and that will wipe out my account until the check arrives from Florida. I hate this crap.  I was on a good roll for the past four months.

And now I'm feeling sorry for myself so I'll leave until I'm feeling more social.

There was a Coffee Dan's in Phoenix (same logo and signage), and we'd end up there with my grandparents periodically.  It was one of my favorite places as a kid.  I wish there were still a place like that or Guggy's around.

I do not like those automated calls.  I simply hang up on them without pushing the buttons.  If I disagree with the info I call them back.

DRelmore I hope you can call and fix it in time.  Did you leave a voice message?

Saturday afternoon greetings!  It is brutally hot and humid here today, very reminiscent of the day I had my heart attack almost 5 years ago  :P

I went to the grocery this morning in order to be home before the heat of the day and to get started on another Jello project for the potluck that will follow tomorrow's baptism of our great-nephew.
