Looks like we're getting that heat tomorrow and Monday!

Still overcast and comfortable here today.  Enjoying it.  Staying in.  Car's at the shop.  yadda yadda.  Haven't won lottery.  Nothing else new.

Rough night - something I ate did NOT agree with me - no bad problems, just rough sleeping.  Thunder this morning that woke me up - and ooh, we've had us about twenty seconds of drizzle.  It's so ridiculous here - we need full out rain, baby.

By all rights I should have had that rough night after the umpteen slices I gorged on that friends brought over from Pizza Hut.  I considered myself lucky when I realized I had gotten away with it.

And damn, they were good.  Pizza Hut is the one national pizza chain that I can truly enjoy now and then.

Stay cool Ginny.

Well, I do have to go back out, but I'll be in my air conditioned car driving to my Mom's and to Barnes & Noble, also both air conditioned.

Well it RAINED a LOT at the show last night.  It was quite a monsoon during the hour before the show....but we had a big audience, and everyone seemed to like the show.  No one left.....it continued to rain off and on.

Tonight is closing night and strike!

We had a storm last night with 70 mph winds.   They sounded the sirens (they are doing that now for straight line winds over 60 mph and tornados)  Since I have big trees around I decided to wait it out in the basement with the cats.   I didn't have any damage, but there are lots of trees and branches down around the area

This morning I walked down to the stop sign and back (about a block each way).  Then I decided to go to the grocery store for my first outing.  It was slow going, but I'm glad I did it.  I bought lots of fruit, some vegetables and other stuff.  Good to be stocked...also good to be back in my recliner

I am watching a delightful film I've missed until now. "Enchanted April," with a lovely score by the late great Richard Rodney Bennett, a lovely gentleman i knew slightly who lived a block away from me.

TOD:

Probably something I read in a book or a magazine....I was aware of such a circumstance since I was small....but didn't have a name for it until I read something.  It certainly wasn't anything in the movies or on television!

When I was young, I certainly didn't know the terms "gay" or "homosexual."  I don't remember when I first connected the words to the concept.  But as I got older and started to develop feeling of a romantic nature, they were only for other guys.  At some point, I put two and two together and realized that I had absolutely no interested in girls...and really had no problem with it.

Got an additional hour of sleep, then Sandy Bainum called and ran her patter for next week's show - she's got it down.  I completely rewrote it from what we did in LA.

It's a beautiful score, but the film is really quite lovely with a wonderful cast.

TOD:

I really can't recall.

But I was a late bloomer - didn't connect those feelings to myself until I was in college. Then a lot of things earlier in my life made more sense.

I was maybe in Jr High.  I was sitting at our kitchen booth with my older siblings and a friend of theirs.  They were talking about men who liked men.  The friend looked at me and said should you be discussing this in front of her?  My siblings were ok with it.  Of course today that would be considered old to hear about such things.

The next time someone mentioned Rock Hudson I understood what they were talking about. ;D

The concept of blooming late is a difficult one for me.  I truly liked boys from a very young age, at least by the time I was five or six.

Listening to a Patty Duke double bill CD - Patty sings Valley of the Dolls (and a few pop songs) and Patty sings folk songs.
