Just booked the first Writer's Block signing at my "good luck" store, Bookfellows aka Mystery and Imagination.  Saturday December 11, three days after my very own birthday.

If anyone understood my post as a criticism of this site, it was not meant as such. I've made some treasured friends here. Panni has just informed me that I "misunderstood" her post and that she wasn't lecturing or condescending, just stating an opinion.  That's fine.  The point of my tongue-in-cheek tongue-in-cheek-lashing was that there are ways to state opinions that don't have to sound like a lecture and furthermore since no one was REALLY castigating anyone for posting or not posting I simply didn't understand the reason for saying things like "this isn't school" and "it shouldn't be mandatory".  Had I said those things then, of course, any opinions would have been both warranted and welcome.

We're just havin' fun around here, and that post seemed to imply that I was seriously upset that people were errant and truant and, of course, nothing could have been further from the truth.  I was KIDDING, like always.

I'm not upset with Panni, although she seemed upset by my tongue-lashing which was simply in response to her thinking she would get one.  Someday I'll do a REAL tongue-lashing so that people can know how bad I can really be.

I just turned off FAHRENHEIT 9/11 after 91 minutes because it disturbed me so much.  I just erased this post because I'm too full of anger right now over this stupid Iraq conflict and this lying regime.

Let me be very clear about the post in question: The sentiments contained in it (we shouldn't have to post if we don't feel like it, blah, blah, blah) were all fine.  My problem, and this just might be me, is that I didn't understand the reason for it - no one was really castigating anyone, no one was annoyed, so it seemed peculiar to me to make such a post.  

So, I understand, Jane, why you would agree with the sentiments expressed (who wouldn't agree) but I hope I've at least made clear what MY problem with it was - and I hope everyone knows that even in my tongue-lashing, it was tongue-in-cheek lashing.  I've made Panni aware of this and hopefully all will be well.

I just read Panni and Bruce’s last two post.  Gosh, I took it all in fun.  I thought Panni’s E & T post was funny and in the past other’s have made similar comments regarding E & T.

Larry, if you could watch the French documentary "The World According To Bush"!!

It goes even deeper than MM's pamphlet and is quite powerful!

I think it was finally shown on some US channel lately; it was to run in the same category as M's film at the Cannes Film Festival, but Fahreinheit was selected instead... and won!
