I'm serious about the publishing thing - I've been thinking about it for two years - I know how to do this stuff now and it would be a nice home for people - what I have to figure out or research is how I get the stuff to Amazon and other online folks.  My feeling is I could do it in such a way that the authors wouldn't have to do anything but purchase their books.  No fees up front.

Well there is another session of auditions tomorrow night, so we won't know anything until after that is over.

There were several good people....I read for both parts I was interested in....so we shall see.  The director could go in a couple of directions with the people he had today - with me and/or without me...so we shall see....

And it's raining again here - not drizzle - actual rain. By 9:00 am it was already 80 degrees out and felt like a sauna from the humidity. The day peaked at 91 degrees. Now it's 76 and raining again. Even my oldest sister who really does live in Chicago says we're experiencing Chicago weather.

Well, it took me several hours (yes, hours), but I have sorted and organized all of my e-mails.  I have six different e-mail addresses, so I needed to go through them all.

For some reason, I stopped downloading them to my computer back in March, so I had several thousand still on the Comcast on-line server...but no more. :)

And now, I'm going to go downtown to Olympia's Lakefair for a Demo Burger.  The local Democratic politicians have a booth where they sell delish burgers.  The Republicans also have a booth, but I don't know what they sell. ::)

I still have a bit of a headache, but it's not as bad as it was this morning, so that's good.

Have a good rest of the evening, all!

Sunday evening greetings!  Our household was up early this morning and the 4 of us went to DN Lauren's church for her son's baptism.  Rob and Mary Linda are his godparents, as Richard and I were for Lauren.  There was a lovely potluck luncheon afterwards and I slept for a couple of hours when we got home.

It sounds like a perfect day.

I knew this was a path that would need to be traveled one day but it doesn't make the trip any easier.  Whatdoes make it easier is your support and friendship.

Thank you

I suppose I'm up after a whopping three hours of sleep.  I'll try to get more in a bit.  Guess we've had our rainfall because the damn sun is out.  Also, we were discussing the Coffee Dan's at Hollywood and Cahuenga, the one I went to - and cousin Dee Dee also only went to that one - I was sure it was on the south side of the street but she was positive it was on the north side.  I couldn't imagine where that would be, but I found it this morning.  There are several driving shots on Hollywood Blvd. from various years - I could see nothing that even resembled a restaurant on the south side so I began concentrating on the left.  But most of the video image was too indistinct although my eye kept going to one particular building but I could not see the sign well enough and it just didn't look right - but I finally found one driving shot that was pretty sharp.  I concentrated on that building and indeed it's Coffee Dan's - located exactly two doors east of Cahuenga and a few doors west of the Warner Cinerama (later the Pacific's), which makes perfect sense, since that's where I would have eaten before seeing Brothers Grimm and How the West Was Won.  This shot was taken in 1962 - I have no idea when Coffee Dan's opened there or when it closed, but now that I know where it is I can probably narrow that down.  And from one site I read, it was a covert hangout for gays of that era.  Who knew?  So, you'll see the Warner Cinerama on your left, which is located between Wilcox and Cahuenga.  As you pass it you'll see a yellow sign on the left that says "Free Jobs" and next to it a pink building - that's Coffee Dan's - if you freeze the image at exactly :28 and go into full screen mode you can finally make out the sign.  Whew!

Hmmm.   "Free jobs."  Are you sure that wasn't the covert hangout for gays of that era?

Back from the nightclub show.  They had a new burger on the menu called Animal Burger, which I suspect was a tongue in cheek thing about In 'n' Out's animal fries.  This burger had cheese, grilled onions, pickles and 1000-Isand dressing, plus lettuce ant tomato.  It wasn't that that burger itself was so huge, but with all the accoutrements I literally could not eat it like a burger.  I had to use a knife and fork.  It was very good, but if I were to have it again I'd have it with raw onion.

We watched DRIVING MISS DAISY with James Earl Jones and Angela Lansbury last night.

Enjoyed it, but it took me awhile to get used to the fact that I was watching a theatrical performance on television.

I was able to record it and make a DVD. :)

Can you make me a copy, too?

Sure.  John wanted a copy, also.

THE BAD SEED est mort.

It went out with a good audience and some great performances.....strike ended shortly before midnight - and we were outta there!

I am auditioning today at 3 p.m. for THE GAME'S AFOOT!

Congrats on the end of a good run and hope you have some good auditioners!

I think Jack is acting, not directing.

Also, George, could you make me a DVD out of another video.  This is not one of my shows, but it is the New York Opera's production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, starring Sally Ann Howes and Regina Resnik.

And for Chas, I think I have a lead on a copy of my production of SHE LOVES ME.  She is going to let me know in a couple of weeks.

And I think we have found another play for me to do.  WHOSE LIFE IS IT ANYWAY.  Unfortunately, it looks like it would be 2017 before we can find a theater locally.
