Good afternoon.   I napped this morning, then went to the quick sentencing hearing I had. Whew!  I was gone a total of 2 hours and boy can I tell i'm not ready for that yet.  I am glad to have that hearing completed.  It had been rescheduled several times and needed to happen.  I am even more glad to be back in my recliner

I feel so good at home, but when I actually went out and was standing and walking a lot, it was a different ball game

Thanks for all the vibes. Today showed me I'm doing the right thing by staying home.  It's a relief to know that

DR Jane, so glad you are happy you made the move.  When you make a decision that big, it's important to be happy about it.   Also cool you seem to have your own personal pool since no one else uses it

I had a friend from the 70s call me last night.  He had connected on facebook.  When I posted about my surgery he said he'd call.  I thought oh, how nice.  Then he called and wanted free legal advice an to tell me all his problems for about an hour.  Good grief

The director messaged me and asked me to come to the session of auditions tonight, because he wants to hear me read with someone who will be there....and who wasn't there yesterday.

I said, yes.....it never hurts to do what the director asks....even if he isn't your director yet.

And so my planned night away from PCPH....my first since last Tuesday....will have to wait until tomorrow.

One of my best friends only calls when he wans to cry on my shoulder.  we;ve been friends since college and I love him, but I could be at death's door and still not get him to focus on my problems.  On the more positive side, I can always rely on him when I need someone to fetch me home from hospital, colonoscopy, whatever.

I think the last time I talked to this friend was in about 1988

I will Dr DR Elmore.   Or I'll take a little excursion to the grocery or something like where I won't be standing as much as I was today.   I do need to go for my walk. I did one this morning and should do one more tonight.  I went from two blocks to four blocks and today should be six blocks, I walked four this morning, I'll walk another 2 in a little while

I Thought I'd be reading the whole time I've been laid up, but I haven't read much at all.  That surprises me.

Hot day here in Oakland CA yesterday.

The condo got a bit toasty before I turned on my portable A/C.   Thanks goodness for A/C!

I am used to referring to our home as a house.  It seems strange to say condo.  Does anyone refer to a condo as a house?  I've been saying home more often now.

I've said "condo" (my preferred term), "apartment" (this is what the post office prefers) and "house."  Take your pick. :)

;D  Thanks, though I wouldn't say apartment.

I remember a physician friend of my parents saying years ago that you could go to the hospital, have a general anesthetic, have NOTHING done, and it would still take you 6 weeks to recover.

Take it easy, DR Cillaliz!

It gets busy later in the morning and throughout the day, especially on Sundays.  Fortunately I don't want to swim laps during those times.

I guess he figured you had nothing else to do ::)  You should have pretended to be dopey on pain meds and said you were falling asleep.

DR Ben, the commute would really piss me off. Subwats ar rush hour are no fun. What's the bus situation like?

The bus wouldn't be much better. I would need to get to Second Avenue and take the M15 and then walk. With morning traffic it is just as long or longer than the Subway.

And no going home for lunch, I guess...

I just told him I'm not licensed in the state he lives in (I'm not) and he went on to complaining about other things.
