Cilla, I could really relate to wanting to get your house cleaned before your surgery. I'd have felt the same.

And I'm very glad I did.  Didn't get it all done, but in the first couple days after surgery I had a number of visitors.  It was nice not to be concerned that it was too messy in here and it's nice to have projects done that I was planning on this summer.  It's a lot easier for me to not lift and do things I shouldn't

Vibes to DR Jeanne,  I was very nervous before my surgery because I had only had surgery once in my life and that was my tonsils.   I would be uneasy about eye surgery too, but I've heard all sorts of good things about cataract surgery.  Hopefully yours will be smooth and successful

Horrible news about Doctorow. "Ragtime" was one of my favorite all-time novels. Read it five or six times when I was a teenager.

I was thinking about going to a few innings of the game tonight, but just as I was thinking that the deck workers showed up and started working in the back yard. I was in and out watching, chatting, getting them water and when they left after cementing in the posts, I realized I was tired and probably should sit home.  So that's what I did

I'm feeling so much better.  I'll go to the office in the morning for a hearing and something that's become quite urgent, then I'll be home in the afternoon - when the deck builders are coming back, and will work from home.  I really think I'll get some work done here over the next 2 1/2 days.

Ron, "The Intouchables" is a French film about the unlikely friendship between a rich quadraplegic and the young man who's hired to take care of him. It's based on a true story. Does that make a biopic? Maybe not, but it's a truly enjoyable movie.

Back from a fun dinner.  Not sure I'll do a movie this evening.

Good Lord.

E.L. Doctorow, 84.

I just got home and it was the first thing that I saw.

I haven't read the novel (yet), but the score to the musical is one of my absolute all-time favorites.

Just finished watching the Blu and Ray of "What's Up, Doc?" Not everything works, but I still find the movie a joy.

The one extra I'm watching is Streisand doing a little commentary.

TCB, I was surprised and pleased to hear that the only glasses you need now are cheaters. Very pleased your surgery went so well. Good for you and encouraging for me!

It really is an easy surgery, Jeanne.  You feel some pressure, but no pain.  Believe me, I am a wuss, and I did fine.

I did not clean the house before surgery, but then I didn't allow anyone in to my apartment / home.
