Have a wonderful time with your adopted son and On the Town, DR Elmore.

(Damn!  I still have to see that!)

See it before Tuesday.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Can you take a photo of Annette's old house?

Well....I got everyone's photo with the exception of one actress, who wasn't there because of work....so now I am working on the slide show.

It is a slow process....but it does look nice on the television in the lobby.

One new person in the cast decided she wanted to use THREE names, which I can't be mad about much since I do the same....she also claims to be:
A pastor's wife
A Mary Kay lady
A barista at Starbucks
and
Mother of a spunky five year old.

She also has a BIG LOUD MOUTH and never shuts up.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Thank you to DRs Vixmom and Cillaliz for the test vibes I found from last night.  I'm a little sore this morning and surprised I'm not bruised.

My main agenda item today is to check on Mom.  I will probably need massive quantities of wine and chocolate when I get home...

See it before Tuesday; to cut the  running costs they are reducing the orchestra on Tuesday night.

Well, what I would say in response to that is not suitable for a family website.

I'll see if it's possible.  Thanks for the warning, DR Elmore.

They should be required to reduce the cast, costumes, and lighting, too.  Make it clear to the public what reducing something actually means vis-à-vis what a show is written for and how honest they're being in presenting it on Broadway.

Overall I seem to be sleeping better in this bedroom on our new bed.  Not having a skylight might be helping.  Whatever the reason, I hope it lasts.

Great news on At Long Last Love, George, though I treasure the homemade CD you shared with me. Wonder if this version will have Tomorrow andDown in the Depths.

And of course announce all of this, just like they announced everything when it opened.  Truth in advertising, and all...

The insomnia may have been brought on by the bad news I received yesterday regarding a long-time theater friend.

That will do it.  :(

In other news, on these two hottest days of the year so far, I have mowed the yards, pulled some weeds, and poisoned some grass coming through the driveway.  Later I will go out and begin scrubbing the mildew off the deck boards in preparation for painting it soon.

If, however, any of this is providing some work for our own DR Elmore, then that greatly tempers my remarks.  It's my own fault for not having gotten off my ass to see the show long before now.

Fortunately we have never had a raccoon inside any of our homes, just loads of them outside.  It was fun watching them.  In our first Michigan home a family lived in the tree directly behind our upstairs deck which offered us a great view.

When we moved in they would get into our trash barrels.  We had to but rags soaked in ammonia in the trash to keep the raccoons away.

Cutting the orchestra size has been common for the past 100 years. In the past, when there was a string section of 15-20 players, it meant cutting the section by half. It's usually the string section that gets it.

Right.  The biggest difference now, of course, is that having the original size orchestra for any time at all is such a significant thing.

I KNEW we should have seen OtT when we were in New York last fall!

It is not providing me with any work.  The situation was addressed before the show ever opened in 2014. There's was a proposed cut list for FINIAN'S RAINBOW before the show opened, but it closed suddenly and no one was sacked. The last WEST SIDE STORY revival made cuts as well.

I'm just offering Joshie my opinion on the situation.

Is that the origin of the expression "getting it in the strings"?
