If wishes were raccoons, we'd all have poop on the roof.

Thursday morning greetings!  Richard and I are going to the Dayton 'burbs this afternoon for a Red Lobster lunch and to do some errands.

If wishes were raccoons, we'd all have poop on the roof.

Or, our neighbors would.

And don't forget about raccoon poop on the fire escape for those living in NYC!

TOD:

Dislike ANY show with ANY Kardashian or Jenner.
Big Brother
American Idol, etc

LIKE:
The Amazing Race
Property Brothers
So You Think You Can Dance - but NOT this year with a contrived Street vs Stage Competition within the regular competition.

TOD:

I sort of enjoyed Top Chef on occasion and Food Network Star, but having been an extra on two "reality" shows, I think they're more fictional than most scripted sitcoms or dramas.

Is Dancing with the Stars considered a reality show? That's one's OK, but only because of the dancing. I don't care about the backstage "drama."

I have not liked whatever I've seen of other reality shows, and the preponderance of them is a big reason why I stopped watching TV.

Blue Raccoon
You saw me standing alone
Without a mask or a heart
Without a pelt of my own.

Night and day
You are the one
Only you beneath that raccoon and under the sun

TOD:  Most loathed?  All of them.  Don't watch them.  None of them are really real.  The minute you put a camera in front of someone with their knowledge, they don't act naturally. And they're encouraged to behave outrageously and create faux conflict where none previously existed.  It's all manufactured bullshit.  We're making stupid people famous.

If you would rather eat healthy, have a tomato:

Yesterday Keith looked at the cherry tomatoes at the market and asked if I wanted any, then at dinner last night he wanted to prove the correct way of eating edamame is easier and about tossed two peas into my throat ;D

The doctor removed the staples and cast from my foot today.

Now, for the next several weeks, I will be wearing a compression bandage, doing water therapy and using a walker.

BK.

I wouldn't want raccoons peeing on my roof either, but please don't damn them to Hell.

They're just poor creatures trying to get by, and I understand that they are people friendly and can make nice pets.

Just buy them a litter box.

BK, the only thing I know that you can spray on things to keep raccoons away is made from the urine of predators.   Ironically, some are made from coyote urine.

For all my protesting, it seems I may have overdone it this week.  I slept 8 hours last night but really didn't feel on top of my game today, so I packed up some work and came home.   I ate lunch on the new deck and sat in the chaise for a little while.  It's beautifully shady out there until late in the afternoon, then it's only 1/2 in the sun.   I need to get a deck storage box to keep my cushions and hammock in so I don't have to take them in and out all the time to keep them safe from the weather

They are doing some construction on the road on the other side of the block and I could smell the asphalt they are working with or I may have stayed out there longer

It has been so hot here the past week. Yesterday was really bad. With the humidex it was 40C, which is crazy hot.

My next door neighbor is having a huge rummage sale on Saturday.  They have been going to flea markets for years and have a lot of good stuff.   I'm going to put a few things out - mostly extra furniture that I just don't have a place for.  I'm hoping to sell more than I did last year at the same sale.  I can hear them outside starting to get ready for the sale.  I'll wander over there soon to see what the timing is.

Her husband passed away very suddenly in May.  She's been sitting up in her room a lot watching tv.  Her window is right over my deck.  When they finished last night she leaned over to the window and said "Beautiful deck, much better than the old one"   It made me smile.

I downloaded Windows 10 on my laptop last night.  If you download it, I suggest doing the "custom" install rather than the "express".  If you do the express you give permission to use your location, send info to Microsoft and other things I'm not really fond of doing.  You can turn them all off if you do custom.   I haven't played with the apps much yet, but so far it's working fine without having any of those things turned on.   It is much better than Windows 8 was.
