Well, you've read the notes, the notes were elusive and yet not, and now it is time for you to post until the elusive cows come home.

This is another Columbia library day. I have three numbers on this pass of Gentlemen, Be Seated! to go.  This weekend I'll see how my new copyist Scott is progressing.

Good morning, all.

First after DR Elmore after BK?

That's a first.  And a fine how-de-do.

I have been thinking about my dad a lot these past two days.  Yesterday, I started weeping on the bus back from Columbia, and today I'm feeling quite melancholic about him. I'm sure that some of it has to do with my looking through the HHW archives for 2006-2007.

I am so bored of waking up every night after ninety minutes of sleep.  I finally just got out of bed, buckled down Winsocki and fixed the new What If, which is certainly the most complex of any of them - you'll understand why when I reveal what it is.  It involves at times two groups singing a kind of round and I hadn't really done that when I first wrote it - I was going off a lyric sheet and they'd made a bunch of silly errors and so the entire last two minutes was not right at all.  So, first I listened to the cast album of the track and made the big eighty bar cut that they did.  Then I went through line by line got it all conformed, and then did the round at the end.  I think it's all correct now but I've got someone going over it with a fine tooth comb.  I want to get this to the singers right now because it will take a bunch of time to learn it.  It involves the four kids in the show and Robert Yacko.

Bruce I consider not waking up for 90 minutes a good long sleep.  I can wake up within minutes of being sound asleep.

Friday....it is already very WARM today.

Tonight we have a family meeting orchestrated by one sister who is trying to cause trouble....perhaps it will all end early....we shall see.

Or perhaps two of my brothers will fortify themselves with beer before they come over.....which will at least make the meeting fun.  I may have a glass of wine myself.

Last night, on Starz, my wife and I watched the remake of ANNIE that was released late last year.

Good cast, but the entire film has got to be the most ill conceived project in the history of the cinema.  Every artistic decision was wrong.  Nothing worked.

Actually, had they dumped the songs, changed the characters' names and called the the movie JANE or NANCY or KIM or anything but ANNIE, it might have been pretty good.

Was everybody at SONY drunk when they approved the project?

Loved Darcie Roberts in Busker Alley. Saw her twice in that.

This is sounding a little too familiar.  Have you noticed any mysterious activity in the basement lately?  Will it be elderberry wine?   Be very careful, DR Jrand64.

In today's news, I just said yes to playing keyboard in a regional production of ASSASSINS in late September.  It's up in Torrington CT where RAGTIME was done last year, but this will be in their (new to me) studio theater, not on the main stage.
