Keith's cousin was at her parent's house and they called to tell us about their new family member, a 3 year old long haired min doxi. The dog is a sweetheart except he goes about 5 feet on the lawn and plops. Keith's aunt says she cannot keep picking him up as it hurts her back. They tried taking him where there wasn't any lawn and it was shaded but it didn't help.

Poor guy is wearing a soft cone while he recovers from his neuter surgery. Hopefully when that is off and the temps cool down he will walk. We also gave them some tips to encourage him.

~~Our library subscribes to the on-line version of Encyclopedia Brittanica. It's a service that patrons can access for free. It's also more accurate than Google, for research purposes.~~

Post modified...I just looked this up and we don't. I think we might have in the past, but I'm not sure now. $:-\$

The library from which I retired has World Book online.

Speaking of that library, a week from tonight we're going to their "Farewell to Main" event. The building where I worked is being totally rebuilt and expanded and Main Library services are moving to an adjacent building that will eventually house a lot of "behind the scenes" operations.

I am reading a National Geographic article about young spiders (10 days old) who spin intricate, perfectly formed webs. Those same spiders, when they are OLD (at 5 months!) spin irregular, mis-shapen webs.

I think I am an old spider.

I am also reading about a floor level device, mounted on the wall, that lets you remotely interact by video with your cat, and even dispense treats to them, even when you are not home!
