ChasSmith, I hope you enjoy Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy more than I did. It was just not enough like Smiles of a Summer Night, which is one of my all-time favorites.

Sounds like a line from "The Play's the Thing." Although I think that was about a peach.

This nectarine is too ripe. Ugh.

Just toss it over your shoulder and I'll catch it!

Tomorrow or Sunday, depending on his schedule, I'm seeing a movie with Matthew, my best friend from college,  I'm thinking about two possibilities: MR HOLMES and PAPER TOWNS.

Mr Holmes was excellent.  I don't know anything about Paper Towns.

TOD:

I have an odd movie from the library called Tip Toes that's described as a combination screwball comedy and film noir. It's French, and Isabelle Hupert is in it.

Right.  I think my hunch has been that it's not only not enough like the Bergman, but also not funny enough in its own right.  I do look forward to seeing the cast, which I'll appreciate infinitely more now than I would have back then.

I was thinking, "This Plum Is Too Ripe" from The Fantasticks.

I wonder if it has any relation to the musical, "Tip-Toes"?

That's why I said for DR Elmore to toss it over his shoulder and I'd catch it.  I played The Mute when he directed THE FANTASTICKS here in Middletown in 1979 and that's business from the show.  Through the run, I was 7 for 8, only missing one catch in 4 performances (and that was without my glasses!).  An audience  member caught the one I didn't and we ad libbed a nice "moment."

I'm up, I'm up.  I got about six hours of sleep - the helper's been by already, and I've been working at the piano.

It's been raining AND thundering for quite a while now!  Finally we get some rain, but the thunder is quite rare for western Washington.

So, I survived the scan and now have an appointment a week from Monday with the nurse practitioner who runs the vein clinic at our cardiologist's office.  There, indeed, is some venous insufficiency that may need to be dealt with.  At least there's no blood clot...
