DR Elmore, Julie says HI back and wants to know (when you know) the particulars of your Colligan lecture in Hamilton.

And Doug was there and had contributed some merchandise.

I didn't buy anything at the garage sale, but I did bring back Page 2!

I'm up, I'm up.  Once again, I got three hours of sleep, woke up, fell back asleep two hours later and slept another four and a half hours.  Must stop this unseemly habit of late.

Worked like crazy all day Thursday. Got home, had 10 minutes to change, and then we were off to an evening at the Guthrie Theatre.

The Music Man.

It was an outstanding production. Everything clicked. I mean, the show is so solidly written, but they did a wonderful job bringing it to life.

The orchestra was reduced to about 15 pieces, but they had cracker-jack musicians, and it sounded wonderful.

I had yesterday (Friday) off from work, as my DH had two medical appointments surrounding his recent diagnosis of diabetes. I especially wanted to sit in on the meeting with the nutritionist.

But first, I had to have an emergency appointment for myself.

At some point in the past few days, my left foot had become reddish and swollen, up to about twice the size of my right foot. It was painful and made it difficult to wear shoes or to walk.

The doctor couldn't really figure out what was wrong, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a clot present, so I had to have my left leg sonigramed yesterday - perhaps at the very same time as DR Ginny was having the same procedure!

I am very happy to report that, just like DR Ginny, I do NOT have a clot.

But the swelling, while slowly reducing, is still unexplained.

Also - I have finally figured out what RED VINES are. I know bk and other DRs had mentioned them, and I knew they were candy of some sort, but had never figured it out until I happened to see them in a store.  They's TWIZZLERS!
I finally understand.

Very good news!  Hopefully, the doctors can figure out what did happen so that it can be prevented in the future!

I'm relaxing, not in my recliner, but up in my bedroom.  I'm watching "Last Comic Standing."  Most of the comics are pretty funny.

We used to buy the large containers of Red Vibes at Costco and send them to Bryan & Craig, Craig when he lived in Romania.

The weather has been so crazy today. It was overcast and maybe supposed to rain. But instead it was super humid and so hot and sunny.  I was at a swim meet outside all day and now I am so hot.

Whew!

Sorry you had to go through that, DR Singdaw.  The scan I had yesterday was really 2 different scans.  Ryan first looked for clots, then did a different search for valve abnormalities.  I've often had the first type, but yesterday was my first experience of the second.

Also, have they checked you for gout?

Why on earth would a lighting person think that they should get to critique the work that they are lighting?  I could see if it was something extremely offensive that made them too uncomfortable. But a girl's period. Is that person for real?

Thanks, DRs Jennifer and FJL.  While I don't have a blood clot, there is some valve insufficiency my left leg that warrant an appointment with the nurse practitioner who runs the vein clinic at our cardiologist's office.  That's a week from Monday...
