Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the Kenton touch, and now it is time for you to post until the Kenton Kows come home.

My morning was made the moment I saw the title of the notes.
Great, great stuff... further opening one's eyes to the world of Capitol Records.
It's High Time (RCA) that I looked over my own modest inventory of Kenton and blasted some to the neighbors.

I have the Cal Tjader
West Side Story
in iTunes, but not the Kenton for some reason. I know I have the Kenton CD somewhere. (maybe in DR George's garage?)

I was first introduced to Stan Kenton when he played for a Cybill Shepherd album.

Good morning, all!!
I slept late. For the past two days I have been dragging through the day, and i needed to sleep. I had a very strange dream about being in a hotel/hostel/dormitory in Austin, TX although I now have no memory of why the dream placed me there. A concert entrepreneur for whom I once wrote arrangements put in an appearance as well. And there was a music store and an LP.

This morning, I received a creepy email from one Frank Anderson who claimed he'd seen me on Facebook and wanted to get to know me. This is a first.
Thanks, Frank. No, thanks.

Morning, all! Happiest of birthdays to JRand & Jose!
Not familiar with the Kenton albums. Will have to take a look for 'em. I have a couple of jazz West Side Stories (Richie Cole's and Oscar Peterson's). Jazz was never really my "thing," but I've enjoyed many albums featuring alternate takes on scores that I loved.
