around 4:00 Pm I got a call that he had his wallet - the credit cards and banking cards (now useless pieces of plastic)  were all there although rearranged, his license was there and the money was gone

I had planned to put together all the backpacks  and school supplies we have been collecting  tonight at 6:30  but I realized that wasn't going to happen and called  the people who were going to help me to cancel

I finally got out of the office at 7:15 and called the Vixter to say I was on my way to church to help and was advised that it was all done!

So Vixdad is in Canada, the Vixter is in bed, I am in my recliner with a full belly and a cup of coffee with Bailey's Toffee Almond creamer

and our refrigerator is stocked with enough left overs from tonight's dinner that there will be no cooking needed the rest of the weekend

I'll make this one short and sweet:

The time I lost my wallet while out of town several years ago, I was with several friends who would be driving back home along with me.

Earlier that day we had ransacked just about all of Lake George looking for it, then finally had to give up and drive back to Danbury.

After I'd finished notifying the bank and credit card companies that the cards were to be declared lost or stolen, I was still sitting at my desk, dazed, when my friend came in and sheepishly handed me the wallet.  "Ummm.....is this the one we've been looking for?"

He'd accidentally picked it up and put it into his bags thinking it was one of his other items, and in all the retracing of steps and looking through things, he never dreamed of checking that part of his luggage.

I discovered later today that if he had asked  Discover would have frozen his card and he could have just unfrozen it when it was found- but i once it is requested to be cancelled it cannot be uncancelled

and this is only about half the menu the rest were all the different daily specials

Yep.

(For you beginners out there:  If you're not blown away by these menus themselves, the pages of specials are absolute insanity.)

It's starting to abate finally.  I finished The Season - it was the first book of its kind back in 1967/68 and a lot of it holds up remarkably well today, if you simply adjust for the current B'way costs.  What's really changed is the way in which shows are produced - no more Merricks or producers like him.  Also, for the politically correct and sensitive types, some of the homosexual stuff is a little, well, of its time but FOR its time, very accurate and in one case pretty funny.  Goldman's views on that season's shows are always interesting.  Who comes off worse in the book?  Clive Barnes - what a jerk he was as a Times critic - a complete embarrassment.
