Here's a spare, which will cover the chance of there being one (1) deletion.

Hey, it's the least I can do.     :)

Today, my sister is helping with a charity fund raising walk around downtown Olympia (I don't know which charity) in the morning, and she volunteered me to help.  Then I think we're supposed to walk the walk.  That will be fine but I'd better remember some sunscreen.

Well, the cause was Suicide Prevention, and there were quite a few people there.  I got there at about 9:30 am, and pretty much just stood around while people came up and asked questions that my sister and another woman answered.  I did remember sunscreen and a hat.

We walked around Capital Lake and it only took about a half hour.  At the end, they announced over the loudspeakers that they had taken in over $20,000 that morning so far, which is more than they got last year.  Their goal was $25,000 and they felt confident that they would eventually get closer to that amount.  It was a good event.  I drove my sister home and then came home myself.

The reeds for one number are finished, and I think I'll begin the brass.  I have to step out and buy a lottery ticket in a bit.

This seemed to go over nicely when I posted it in the NYT comments, my parody-tribute to the new apps for Fashion Week making it available to the whole city rather than the elite few.

Nice that there’ll be apps and other ways to make the Fashion Week experience more democratic.

Tune of “Always True To You in My Fashion”

In the past a Fashion Week
Was exclusive to the chic
Now this Week it’s us they seek, so shout hooray
There are always apps to use when they’re talking fashion
There are always apps to use to hear what they say

So we’ve never gotten snaps
For our jackets or our wraps
Grab their apps and stylish chaps will look our way
There are always apps to use when they’re talking fashion
There are always apps to use to hear what they say

I’m a fashion-challenged mess
Who just can’t dress for success
Now this mess
Can nonetheless
Make out okay

There are always apps to use when they’re talking fashion
There are always apps to use - to hear what they say

That's great, Fred!  Very funny!

Very clever lyrics, Fred. I quite enjoyed them.

I did, too. Thanks for sharing.

vixmom - Does your boss actually let you take your time away without bothering you, or are you expected to check email regularly when on vacation?

I have advised I will be unreachable during vacation

The Missouri synod would have a heartbattack in our church... Not only do we have female lay readers, acolytes, communion assistants, deacons and assisting minister but our youth minister and associate pastor are. also female.  On days when our senior pastor is out it can often be all females leading worship
