Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written in October, and now it is time for you to post until the October cows come home.

TOD, i thought the worst audience behavior was at a play that had a rather brief nude scene (it was a revival of Noel Coward's "Present Laughter"), an audience member took a flash photo, to the clear dismay of the actor.

I'm glad you resolved your issue with the Macbeths, Larry.  But truly, I wonder if the attention and well-deserved respect you're now getting in your hometown has made them sorry they ever distanced you, which is imagining that they are shallow people, but that may be the case.

I have a vague memory of a travel dream: heading to the Newark airport with music copyist Don Oliver and dealing with one piece of luggage on wheels, a shoulder bag, a shopping bag, and a cane. Welcome to my nightmare!

Last night, Time Warner's internet went down. Yesterday morning, it was Time Warner TV.

WTF?

I expected an email from the Macbeths this morning, but there was none.  Randy and Jo got their invitation to the dinner before my event on Wednesday, although I know that Jo is unhappy that it's past her bedtime. I will tell them that if they want to leave after dinner, that's fine with me.  i just want them to know I would like them there.

Thursday morning greetings!  Well, it looks like I bade you all good night and then forgot to log out.  I blame the eye drops, which seem to be out of my system this morning.

As to the Macbeths, DR FJL, Randy thinks Lady M is the one who wants to be there. Ity will give her something "classy" to boast to her few friends. I have no doubt that my brother wants some sort of reconciliation, but the event next week is not the place and, as far as my feelings go, the moment has passed.

The time for any rapprochement was in 2007 when we settled my dad's estate, but Lady M refused. She really had no business putting herself into a conflict with three brothe's over their father's estate and Macbeth should have told her to butt out. I waited until 2009 for some effort on their part, gave up, and then in 2010 removed them from my will. To my thinking, I have one brother eleven years young than I and a brother who died in 2007, about six months after my father.

Jo told me that if the Macbeths show up, she will not.

If it's any comfort, Offenbach's Helen of Troy blames all of her indiscretions and romances on fatalité.

Lousy audiences? WHITE CHRISTMAS, 2008, 2 house seats @ $150 each, about Row M, smack center, and four empty seats directly in front of me and my friend Chris.

Behind us, a group of high school kids with cups of soda and crushed ice which they jingled throughout the performance, or loudly chewed on ice, or talked amongst themselves.

About 45 minutes into Act One, the two couples who had the four empty seats arrived to great noise and shifting of audience.  The older man and woman sat on the ends and the young 20-ish couple sat directly in front of me and made out as though they were at the drive-in throughout the entire damned performance. I doubt thewy saw a single moment of the production.

TOD:

I don't recall witnessing any bad audience behavior in a legitimate theater, but when I saw THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT in a movie theater, at the end of the film, the audience stood up together and "Booed".

The US Post Office spends a small fortune annually on large rubber bands for my mail, so why, when I need heavy rubber bands, can I find none of them?

I believe i used Expedia whenever I flew to LA. It always seemed that Alamo was cheapest, but it may not be so where you are going.
