I was up too late looking at Christmas catalogues and reading.  I would love to go back to bed, but I tried that an hour ago and failed.

Saturday morning greetings!  Starting at noon, it's a football-on-TV day in our household.  First up, Michigan at Penn State (Go, Blue!).  Then, Michigan State at Ohio State.  Now, I'm supposed to dislike both teams, but I'd sure love to see the the Buckeyes lose this one...

DR JOHNG - "Arcadia" was most enjoyable last night.  There were no slow talkers, so the play was over at 10 p.m. which is great.

It was nice to see some of the kids I've worked with at DePauw in some very interesting roles.

Lovely set and nice music.  One girl spoke so fast that I could understand her, and there was a lot of turning and talking upstage.....but it was done "thrust" style, so even if I couldn't see faces, the people on the sides could.

I like the play a lot, and it was very interesting.  The one draw back was the woman sitting in front of her us - I heard her talking to the director before the play and telling her that she herself had played the part of the mother.  She laughed long and loud at many things....some funny, some not....

Thank you DR CHAS SMITH - many MANY Kritzerland CD's have become very valuable over the years.....I have made sure that my youngest sister knows that for the time when I shuffle off this mortal coil.

They may help pay for my send off.

I have very few plans today, but i need to clean up this dump and accomplish some work on the Moross score, which now sits on my work table. Ny publisher has asked me about doing some Hanukka choral pieces, so I have to give some thought to that as well.

For some reason, this headline made me think of MR BK.

I've been listening to Nino Rota's comic opera Il Capello di Paglia Firenze (The Italian Straw Hat), which is quite lovely. Not as good as Verdi's Falstaff, which may be the best comic opera ever, but nicely scored and very tuneful.  i'd like to see a production.
