T.O.D.

Growing up I think we mostly watched Huntley and Brinkley, although in my grandmother's room it was always Walter Cronkite.

As an adult, I think my favorite was Peter Jennings.  Sticking with ABC, I really liked Diane Sawyer, and now David Muir.

I also enjoy Anderson Cooper, but I think I like him just as much on New Year's Eve with Kathy Griffin as I do a serious newsman.

TOD

Growing up before I we had cable we only had CBS and NBC from over the air. Walter Cronkite and Huntley and Brinkley were always favorites. In Canada I can't remember who did the early evening news but there were quite a few good good ones late evening news host whose names escape me at the moment.

TOD Part 2

NOW
I absolutely hate local news and don't watch it.

Also don't watch TV that early in the evening when the network news is on.

I currently enjoy MSNBC news programs

Hate Fox news

Also like Anderson Cooper

Topic of the Day:  I have to admit that I didn't pay attention to the news or the broadcaters while growing up.

Well, after the movie that I saw last night (it was VERY graphic, sexually) with friends of mine, we went to a local diner and ate and chatted and just enjoyed each other's company.  I didn't get home until about 1:30 a.m.

Now, I just watched the end of my DVD to "Scrooge," starring Albert Finney.  A co-worker wants to borrow it and I wanted to see the end.  I love this movie, especially the ending. :D

It seems that the Richard M. Sherman special is only airing in selected areas tonight. I hope that it will follow in other markets very soon.

Good morning, all! I was up too late watching too many DVDs.  I slept poorly, mostly fretting about my friend, wondering what treatment his doctors have decided to follow, and pondering the cruelties of the human condition.

I plan a day at home today. I'll vacuum and tidy up, clean off the stove, and begin a large quantity of chicken soup. I like to cook, and chopping and thinking about the processes will keep my mind occupied with other thoughts.

I got in yesterday's post the 14th season of Midsomer Murders and I watched the first episde last night, along with a rather syrupy movie The Christmas Candle.  It's one of those films that make me think, one more rewrite might have fixed its problems. It had a good cast, but the costumes were 1880s yet the year was around 1900, and I never could tell the time span of the actual plot.

Planning to watch the highlights from Scrooge, starring TCB, today - I'm finally feeling in the Christmas spirit (which is different in some ways from the Hannukah spirit when the holidays are so far apart).

Growing up, it was Huntley/Brinkley and Walter Cronkite.

Today, it's Fox News.

Good morning, all.

Oh my god, a day when I don't have to figure out what time to leave for the high school.  A day all my own.  God bless us, everyone.
