Remember that room of scores and books that I thought was going to storage in Philadelphia?  Well, it didn't.  I learned today that it's now in a landfill. I could have given a ton of those scores away to friends or friends of friends if I'd known.

Well, at this moment I must be off, to a par-tay that I don't REALLY want to go to -- and it's an hour away -- but sometimes you just have to, y'know?  This is one of those times.

I'll show up and be present and accounted for.  And I shall take my leave as soon as it's decent to do so.

I've been doing cleaning and laundry. I didn't have much energy to bring to it today. I had a busy week and I'm pooped.

I feel the same about Larry's books and scores as those above. I'm amazed at how thoughtless some people can be. I see all sorts of things thrown out. If you don't want to keep it, fine, but someone else may need or appreciate it.

Larry - was that done as a terrible mistake?  or was it intentional?

Vixmom, I'm pleased to hear that you'll have fewer duties at church soon.  I hope you can spend those hours soaking in a hot bath, or lounging in your recliner, or spending more time here.

It was intentional on the part of the Man from Philadelphia. I had been led to believe it was all going into storage in Philadelphia when I walked out of the office for the last time. I later got an email from him saying that the office had been emptied and I assumed his crew had come in and removed everything. Today, while Kim Criswell and i were looking for some of the McGlinnventory, we learned that he had let the office management trash everything.  If I had kown he was going to pull that, I could have acted better to preserve things.

Now, some things that should have gone to the Library of Congress eventually are irrevocably lost.

I learned yesterday that one of my favorite restaurants is closing. NOOOOOOOO!!!! They seem to do a good business, but are nevertheless closing the location near me. My guess is poor management. I know it's not an easy business, but they had a good number of customers.

I have very little Christmas spirit. I seldom do these days. I do enjoy giving presents to a few friends and neighbors, but we don't spend a lot and it's a small circle. As for decorating and such, it's just too much work. My cousin LOVES all that and spends a lot of time at it. But she doesn't really have much to do. She also has grandchildren. For kids, of course, it's great fun.

Saturday evening greetings from HOME!  Laurel's funeral went very smoothly and very much to the satisfaction of her daughter.  One of Laurel's claims-to-fame was her cookie-baking prowess, so for the luncheon several of her granddaughters used their Grandma's recipes to bake several kinds of cookies for dessert.  A very "sweet" touch.

Speaking of cookies, I have rolled, cut, and baked an assortment of ginger cookies from the dough I made yesterday before we left.

Now I'm drinking Cosmo Punch leftover from Thursday's coloring party and plan to achieve a degree of mellowness fairly soon.
