Well, you've read the notes, the notes counted down, and now it is time for you to post until the counting cows come home.

Tonight, my friend pug is having her annual Yulefeast dinner where she invites everyone to eat and party and celebrate the return of the sun.  I'm bringing vegan cupcakes that my sister has made for me. :)

Is it a vegan dinner?

I'm wondering whether this will be the last tax-office day before the holiday.

Around 3:30AM I believe I had a couple of ghostly visitors; I could hear footsteps and voices from miles away. Beyond that, I slept fitfully, had a couple of weirds dreams, and was wide awake a lot of the night.

In the one dream I remember, everyone was reading Orwell's Animal Farm, and I think I was leading the group.

This morning, I have a trip to Lincoln Center; I'll stop at my pharmacy for this monthly meds, hit the bank, and then meet a Wright State University student for coffee.

TOD:

Finding out that I am still cancer free.

Winning a ballroom trophy and several awards. (I had never won any trophies as a kid, so this is a surprise.)

Going to Louisville to celebrate my parents' 60th anniversary.

Spending a week on Maui.

Good morning, all.

And a late one it is.  I was (still am, actually) exhausted from the long day and late hours last night, so it's a bit of a pre-Christmas miracle that I was able to sleep in today

Tuesday morning greetings!  What fun, festive holiday thing do I get to do an hour from now?  My 6-month dental check-up  :P

After that, though, I'll be back to wrapping and baking.

TOD:
The best thing that happened to me this year is that my significant other got laid off from his job as a newspaper entertainment editor. I know that doesn't sound like a good thing, but Mark was working 16 hours a day and I almost never saw him except on weekends. He had terrible eating habits, never had the time to exercise, and got very little sleep. Now we walk the dog together every evening, he eats fairly nutritious meals at home and walks on the treadmill everyday. I think he's lost about 25 pounds, but we'll never know because he refuses to weigh himself. Anyway, he washes all the dishes and has the holiday lights turned on outside when I drive up to our house after work. He makes a very nice house-husband. It's a bit disconcerting that he hasn't been able to find another job in six months (no one buys newspapers anymore), but we haven't needed the money, and I'm sure he'll find something next year.

It's been a very good year for the dog too because she's never left home alone all day long anymore.

Happy December 22nd!  The Broadway Radio Show Countdown to Christmas continues today with the World Premiere Cast Recording of A Christmas Story.  Based on the popular film, this musical features a delightful score by the up and coming songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.  It's a fun family musical I am sure you will enjoy so give it a listen while you are wrapping gifts or decorating your tree!

I do not get NETFLIX so I cannot watch the series that MR BK is writing about.....I am sure I would feel exactly the way he does about the whole thing.
