SLICING AND DICING AND CHOPPING AND MINCING - THE DAY OF THE DO
« on: December 24, 2015, 01:04:00 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes sliced and diced and chopped and minced, and now it is time for you to post until the slicing and dicing and chopping and mincing cows come home.  They don't really mince, they MOOnce.

And continued from yesterday:

Getting Christmas Eve day off is very nice...especially like this year where we get a four-day weekend without using our own vacation time.  We don't get New Year's Eve day off, but all the buildings have to close early, so next week, since New Year's Day is on Friday, we'll get a three-day weekend. :D

Good night, Tom.  And thanks for the link...not that I'll necessarily ever go, but it'll be nice to know what they're all about.

And a BIG THANKS to BK for the heads up on the outrageously priced I Love Lucy which is still $25 or thereabouts this morning.  I had some credit card points to use -- and use them I did, bringing my copy down to $7.81.

Well, there's no getting around it -- I have to brave the crowds and the parking lots this morning in order to pick up a few necessities.  The worst of it will probably be Costco, from whence I must schlep a couple of 44-pound boxes of cat litter.  Shame on me for putting that off till today.  I also need half a dozen things from a regular supermarket.  Oy.  And, while I'm at it, Vey.

BK,

Glad to see that you're finally going to CreateSpace.

I sell quite a few of my play scripts through that venue every month...and do get an occasional production.

You should also put the script onto Kindle.  I sell as many, if not more, scripts through Kindle every month as I do via CreateSpace.  You might also consider doing an audio version through ACX.

Two more suggestions:

1. Create a YouTube trailer for the script and post it on FB and any other website that might be of interest.  A trailer is a terrific selling tool.

2. Every now and then, do a search on YouTube for your play.  Some folks, mostly students, will perform scenes from your play (usually not very well), then post it on the web.  In the past year or two, I've removed 2 illegal performances of CLARA BOW from YouTube.  A bad performance of your play on YouTube does not help sell it.

Good luck!

I slept late.

For the past hour, I have been busy with my Wright State University friend Jim and his brother who visited me on Tuesday. They've been at LaGuardia waiting for a plane since around 8:00 last night. Their 10:30 flight was canceled, and they're now booked on a flight at 10:30 this morning.

I have very few plans for today or tomorrow.  I'll go over to Holy Trinity and pray for my parents, grandparents, and other family members as well as my friend with cancer.  Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

I have a bit of cooking to do today, and that will be fun. After that, we'll see what happens next.

Last night I had several dreams: one was very much like the beginning of a porn movie with voyeuristic nudity. I remember none of the others now - what do you expect after the first? - but I do remember I dreamed of colors, lots of blue and green.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that dreaming of blue may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind....and dreaming of green signifies a positive change, good health, growth, fertility, healing, hope, vigor, vitality, peace, and serenity. The appearance of the color may also be a way of telling you to "go ahead". Green is also symbolic of your strive to gain recognition and establish your independence.

A Merry Xmas Eve to everyone!  The final countdown to Christmas Broadway Radio Show is now up for a listen.  Today we have the brand new London Cast Recording of ELF!  Based on the hit movie starring Will Ferrell, the musical version debuted on Broadway in 2010 and has become a perennial holiday musical fixture around the country (and was even made into a 30 minute animated special for NBC - worth checking out!).  The show has now made its London debut, which brings us a brand new cast recording featuring the delightful score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin.  ENJOY and MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all!

Around seven years, David Burnham asked me to write this chart for a holiday concert he was doing. I have no memory now of how he found me or where the concert was, but I really enjoyed working with him.  This sound clip is from a concert about three years ago.
