THE ACT, THE ARTICHOKE, AND THE ANIMAL BURGER
« on: December 29, 2015, 12:26:15 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had an act, an artichoke, and an animal burger, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're happy with all of it except for the animal burger.

BK, those are great photos of you and Sami with Jason and Faith!  I would love to have seen them in anything that they've done!

I suppose I would have my Gay Membership Card revoked if I didn't say:

Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall

Even just listening to the CD's of that concert is enough to give you goose bumps.  It is the perfect love affair of artist to audience and audience to artist. Nothing can top it.

TOD

Since you added concert as a choice
I would also like to have seen Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall.

As for cabaret
I would have loved to see Elaine Stritch in her final appearance at the Algonquin.

I would have loved to have seen two great singers no longer with us
Nancy LaMott (I do have some DVD with video showing her acts)
Laurie Beechman.

And the real wayback machine
a 20 something Barbra Streisand at Bon Soir or one of the other night spots she did

and a young Frank Sinatra.

Good morning, all!  I slept well, although I had a rather unsettling dream about medical practices that has to be from a past life over 160 years ago. Ugh.

I am back to City Center today.  I work well with Joshie and we have a good time discussing music theory, curious things in another's work, and gossiping about friends and enemies.

The TV seems to be okay this morning.  At least, so far this morning.

I am moving quite cautiously this morning. I don't know if it's the humidity or my decrepit body affecting my left leg this morning.

Last night I had a pizza with Cincinnati chili, spaghetti, onions and cheese on top. Different but quite good.

Snow!!

Well, half an inch of it.  With some sleet mixed in.  Not too bad, and hopefully it should go away mostly on its own.

I'm not even fully prepared with setup of winter paraphernalia yet...too much complacency thanks to this wonderful delay to winter.  I must use the next few clear days to ketchup on all of that.

Animal burger sounds excellent.  Can't say I've heard of a milk bun, so will have to look that up.  My favorite burger buns in the whole world now are Martin's Potato Rolls which are used by Shake Shack, and which are--thankfully--readily available in our supermarkets here.

Enjoyed reading about the concert last night and all of those in attendance.  I have a couple of the solo CD's of Mr Graae....and Faith Prince is very good on the Guys & Dolls and Bells Are Ringing CD's.....  I imagine that would be a fun evening.

I shall have to read what other DRs say about the TOD.....I am not one for attending cabarets and concerts.....

I would go back and see any of Jason Graae's cabaret acts again. He's just so wonderful. And the nice thing is that we actually got to do that when he decided to resurrect his very first show at the Cinegrill years later. It wasn't at the Cinegrill, but it was the same act and it was just as wonderful as it was many years ago.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I've surrendered to whatever this is that I have and made a doctor's appointment for this afternoon.  I'd really like to be well before I have to fly to Boston a week from Friday.

Very interesting to read about the Jason & Faith show.  They are both graduates of the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and I have programs that indicate that I saw both of them in productions on the Showboat Majestic in the 1970s.

Good Morning - the DD and I are off on a roadtrip today.  We are heading to the Foothills - for no real reason, just that I grew up there and have no real ties to anyone there anymore.  I guess we're just going for a drive, maybe take some pics.  It will also be the first chance I have to listen to "Welcome to My World".

We walked from our ship to a tall elevator that takes you to the upper city which is the old section.  It is filled with churches and colorful buildings.  The streets are all cobblestone.
