My television set is HD, but very old. It only has one HDMI port! Nowadays, there are lots of devices wanting to plug in to your TV. I have a ROKU stick that I won in a contest that I have never been able to use because I didn't want to deal with unhooking the Blu-Ray player.

Well today, I ordered an HDMI port. It plugs into the TV, splitting the one port into 5. Should be mighty convenient.

Do you have a receiver?  If so, can you plug everything into that, and let it output (or, in less elegant phraseology, put out) to the TV through the HDMI?

I'm up, I'm up.  These cretins were out there at seven knocking down the final bit - so loud and shaking my house - at that point I'd only had five hours of sleep.  It began to rain hard and they seem to stop altogether - maybe the rain broke their equipment or maybe they just finally gave up the ghost and went home to stay dry.  So, I fell back asleep until eleven, but have a headache now - just took two aspirin.

The rain seems to have abated momentarily so they're back making their horrid noise.  I didn't think anything was left to tear down.

My annoying dream was about the commercial with the Peter Pan kid singing "You Make Me Feel So Young..."

Oy!

When I want to watch some of the news/information/entertainment video clips on Comcast (my Internet provider), they have a string of videos, but you have to watch a 15 or 30 second ad in between each one, and they usually have the same ad in between several clips...and lately it's usually been this one! :P

Can you call the city about the noise? I can't imagine that they are allowed to do work at 7am.

I believe there is a USPS delivery truck driver whose attitude is, I'm making no deliveries.  Today is the second day  got an email from Amazon saying that the US Post could not deliver another package.  That's one for Monday and one for Wednesday. So I just gave the post office and Amazon.com Customer Service a lot of grief about two packages I have not received through their mutual incompetence. The driver, who's supposed to leave a notice of a delivery attempt, is foinf nothing. I think the sonofabitch is ripping off the Postal Servicer and I want him dead. Now.

And I am home from a good day at City Center. Until Amazon determines a course of satisfactory action, I am no longer ordering from them. There are two packages in limbo and i am really really pissed off.

Our DR Ron Pulliam is in the Oakland Medical Center.  He posted this on Facebook:
Checked in Sunday morning when my OTC ministrations were not working. Diagnosis: congestive heart failure disease (onset). Water in my lungs was a complication. I've been poked, prodded, and medicated to adjust my body chemistry. If anyone owns stock in Lasix, rest assured it's on solid ground. Feel much better but am weak and caffeine- deprived.

I think he could use some vibes!

DR Elmore, that postal branch would seem to be a candidate for worst in the U.S. of A.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people in different areas in NYC think the same about their own.  It's really horrible.

The situation is ridiculous. I've asked amazon to issue credit and to have the items returned to them. I also told Customer service that I will no longer order from them if the US Postal Service is going to screw up deliveries.

I feel badly for your DR elmore3003, but even if you stop ordering from Amazon, you still need UPS and the USPS to get your stuff the last leg of the way! Darn them! Darn them all to heck!

DR elmore--Sorry about your troubles with the Post Office.  I had a very frustrating period of time with the USPS too.  It seems to be better since the old carrier is back.  But when I pick up my held mail after travelling, I always check each piece before I leave the post office.  I find mail for other people almost every time.

Winter is here!  It was in the 20s this morning and even colder yesterday morning.  But the temps warmed up during the day.  40s expected for the next few days.
