Holy moley, DR Elmore.

I'm amazed you got any sleep at all, with all of that going on!

My Mom just called.  My dad passed in his sleep last night.  And they're snowed in and I am 2000 miles away

Thank  you all tomorrow he would have turned 86. It was expected and really at this point a blessing... He was in the very end stages of Alzheimer's and there as no quality of life he couldn't communicate and I think he was ready to go.  I just feel terrible being so far away and unable to get back.

Nice blog this morning, BK.

Brought back memories.

I used to "live" at Phil Harris Records and, to a lesser extent, at the Discount store at Wilshire/La Cienega.  In fact, for a time, a fellow student from the University of Washington Drama Department worked at the Wilshire/La Cienega store.  Did you know Gary Lamb?

Sunday morning greetings.  I was up and dressed and ready to leave for Lima with Fr. Richard when my stomach made it clear I should not embark on a 90-minute car ride  :P

Oh Vixmom, I feel for you so far away from your family.  Was your brother able to get to your mother?

I wish I could have gone for a walk last night without waking Keith up.  It was a clear, bright, beautiful night with the full moon.  Some of the clouds had a pink tint to them and the Portland lights shone brightly on the river.

I'm up, I'm up.  I was up at ten but stayed in bed and slept again until the doorbell rang at eleven.

Druxy, I know a Gary Lamb but it can't be the same person - the one I know attended LACC in the late 70s.

It was actually a very easy trek to City Center.  The weather was quite cold, but my building's super and his snow blower had the sidewalk in excellent shape. The 104 bus ride went well, and it took me - with the little traffic as such - around 15 minutes to get there. I was willing to stay once I finished my proofreading but Joshie said he was in great shape and to get out. So I did.

The bus ride home wasn't bad, but the weather has warmed up and slush is deep and slippery. Still, I'm home in once piece and pondering dinner.

As I reached my apartment a Domino's Pizza bike delivery rode past me. Business as usual.

There's this PBS cooking show new to me, "The Jazzy Vegetarian": I want her dead. The recipes seem good but her cutesy-poo aren't-I-hep peppiness makes me want to drown her in her hummus.
