Oh, then you called the police.  I thought the alarm went directly to them.  Yes, things need to change.

Local newspapers have assured us that the suicide of the head of a local prep school is unrelated to an investigation by police of the school's former basketball coach into child porn charges.

Bonus announced, and it is indeed more than generous. Not quite as good as last year but still incredible.

What is this "bonus" of which you speak?

;)

Working for public library, there is no such thing as a bonus, nor is there overtime, unless it's pre-approved, which it rarely, if ever, is.

Time for a mental break, I guess. I thought the dryer was broken because it wouldn't start. Nothing worked.

Then I realized that it helps to close the door first.

Been there...done that. ::)

There aren't too many choices for shows on Mondays, of course, so last night I went to see "Ruthless," sort if a cross between "The Bad Seed" and "All About "Eve."   It was fun, but nothing spectacular.  The cast was very good.

I only know the show from the 1994 L.A. cast recording (as recorded by our very own BK), and I love it!

Great bit of dialogue from Bad Girl, a 1930s pre-code melodrama. Two women are talking about guys who make passes:

Woman 1: Don't talk back to them. You might get fired.
Woman 2: When they deliver baloney to my door, I always give them a receipt.

We didn't have them in the newspaper business.

This one is earmarked for some foundation work on the house.

When they call me, they ask if I want the police dispatched. I usually say no. Since it was the middle of the night, I said yes.

Not only do you not get a bonus when you work for a church, they want you to give back part of your paycheck.

Back from Doug's.  Adam Cates has had to drop out as choreographer of the LA show - he's assisting on a Broadway show, a last-minute gig that just happened and their out of town dates conflict with ours.  So, on the hunt again.
