Oh dear God - my wonderful Teddy, who has been doing my hair since 1971 - that is close to 47 YEARS, died yesterday.  I can't even.  I was going to come in this week.

So very sorry.

Just caught up with the latest Downton Abbey. They seem hellbent on getting everyone married off.

Just to put a capper on this Monday (is it not over yet?), a beloved kitty is in stage four kidney failure.  She first developed kidney disease over two years ago, and this is the final stage.  (We've managed it beautifully since then with fluids.)  Not only that, she now has cancer, which showed up via a swollen lymph node, and it's probably in her kidneys as well.  Not only that, but she also has feline AIDS which (of course) she tested negative for when adopted several years ago.  Apparently it can be passed from the mother and lay hidden.  Just for comic relief, we'll have the urinalysis results tomorrow.  She's very subdued, but is contented and eating and is not yet down for the count.  But that count will come fairly soon.

Back from Costco and an omelet and a bagel.  As most of you know, I am rarely affected by deaths because I am a pragmatist, but Teddy was like family in a similar way that Susan Gordon was when she passed, or Laurie Beechman or Michelle Nicastro.

Good morning, all!

I had a very restless night of sleep and many strange dreams.  All I remember of them is that I was directing soprano Rebecca Caine in a production of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

She's on the Canadian cast recording of "The Phantom of the Opera."  I like that recording.

I love most any kind of nut, though I can only take one or two macadamias at a time. They're kinda oily to me.

Not when covered in chocolate.

DR ChasSmith, ther news about your cat is also distressing.  I am so sorry.

BK, I think dedicating the award to Teddy is really lovely.
