Was just looking at the Downton website.  There are 9 episodes and I think Sunday is Episode 8 so there should be one more after that.

But it still amazes me that there is even a remote possibility that I could know a Supreme Court Justice as well as I know Jane

Cool!

Last night there was a cat in my window well at 1:00 AM   Needless to say it was quite an event.  It just sat and looked in the window while Boo and Ricky looked at it.   I briefly considered going out and getting it, but it was under the window well cover (there was a way for it to get out). It was protected from the wind, there are dry leaves to lay on and it wasn't that cold out.  I thought if I went out and tried to catch it, I would have scared it, it would be in a worse place than if it stayed in that spot  It must have left about an hour later because Boo and Ricky came upstairs like nothing had happened.  Haven't seen it around at all today.  If I see it around during the day I'll try to catch it and take it to the Humane Society or the Animal Adoption Center

I actually think it may belong to someone.  If it's the cat I think it is, I'll never catch it.  That one is feral.

DR Jennifer while I agree with you regarding reading an eBook, doing so does not give me the same emotional connection as holding a book in my hands.  The more special the book, the stronger the emotional connection.

I prefer reading on my kindle and don't think that I like books more or have a more emotional connection when holding a book. IT is the story that is emotional, not the physical object.

I get what you're saying, Jennifer, but for many of us, reading is a sensory experience including the feel of the book, the weight of the book, the physical act of turning pages, etc.  And for me it's easier on my eyes

I skipped lunch today and had some KFC chicken only about 3.  I'm thinking about a small malt and French fries for dinner.  Yeah, I know it isn't healthy, but it sounds really good....

I still love walking through a bookstore touching the books.

I'm anxious to see who Obama nominates for the Supreme Court.   I keep seeing Jane Kelly's name on the news.  She went to law school with Obama, but worked with me!   She was the supervisor in one of the Federal defender offices here and I was the supervisor in another.  She would be excellent.  But it still amazes me that there is even a remote possibility that I could know a Supreme Court Justice as well as I know Jane

That's so cool, Cillaliz!

Cillaliz, how do you feel about the Republicans saying that Obama should not nominate someone now, and let the next president (who they hope will be a Republican) choose ?

No, actually I was surprised at the way they didn't seem to be threatened.  I'm thinking the cat may have spent part of the winter in there but I didn't notice.  It's actually a lot like a feral cat shelter, but there's no food. I blocked off the gap on the north side of the window well, with the idea that an animal may seek shelter in there when it was bad out. There was still a gap on the south side that the cat could come and go

I'm really tired.  Going to get a malt may just take too much energy. Think I'll make some oven fries.  I'm out of ice cream, but I could have a hot chocolate with it.

I'm thinking I need ice cream
I don't have any in the house, so I may have to go buy some

I keep forgetting that I have ice cream in my freezer!  I need to remember this when I'm at home!

I got a new region-free Blu ray player today from Amazon.com.  It's a Sony BDP-S3200 Wi-Fi upgraded Multi-Region Zone-Free player.  Plays PAL and NTSC.  My LG region free only played "some" European discs and refused to play others.  This one is pegged to play any and all.

Can't wait to get it hooked up.

That's great, Ron!  I LOVE my multi-region Blu-ray player!

That's kind of how I feel, but I still buy some physical books, just because I want them and they're a little more special than just the story.

DR Vixmom, I've been awakened many times with palpitations and know how uncomfortable they can be. The head of cardiology at UCLA advised me to eat potassium foods (such as a banana) and drink a big glass of water. But since this would usually happen during the night, I prefer using potassium capsules (99 mg).

But what has worked the best for me has been magnesium. I keep magnesium capsules next to my bed, with a glass of water. My favorite form of magnesium is Neuro Mag from Life Extension. You could use any brand, 100-200 mg. (Avoid the 400 mg, as it's too much to take at once.) Neuro Mag quiets the palpitations very quickly. One osteopath I go to has gotten rid of her life-long migraines, as well as all headaches, using Neuro Mag, and now recommends it to her patients.

I also like the homeopathic cell salt form of magnesium, known as Magnesia Phos (or Mag Phos). They're tiny tablets which dissolve instantly in your mouth. (Not to be taken with water.) They, too, will calm the heart. I find them very helpful if I have muscle cramps or are feeling edgy or stressed.

(I take the 6x tablets.)

Lastly, I highly recommend Dr Stephen Sinatra's THE SINATRA SOLUTION: METABOLIC CARDIOLOGY. This is very well written and understandable. It's also well organized, and you can easily skim and skip if you wish. In the back he gives his recommendations for afib, as well as other aspects of heart disease. This is the best source I've found on the subject.
