I hope everyone on the west coast is well

I hope everyone in the east coast is well

And hope everyone else in the middle and elsewhere is well too

I had this long rambling dream, set in the 1880s, about the Catholic Church across the street,  It was very much a Henry James novel involving inheritances, financial fraud, and a character that was possibly a metamorphosis of my ex-nun lesbian friend Alice.

I had this weird little dream that had something to do with a musical passage from SPELLING BEE, and while in it or while coming out of it I could swear I'd had the same dream a night or two before.  Now I can hardly remember it.

OH MY GOD I just remembered another dream.  There was a strawberry growing on my face.  When I tried to remove it, it became more strawberries.  I'll spare you the rest of the story.

I have about 30 pages left in this novel about Thomas Hardy. I need to finish it, because I'm tired of dreaming about this depressing man. I don't remember much of the dreams except that he's in them.

Headed to San Angelo for the weekend. Hope to finish off Jane Smiley's Golden Age in the car. Hope to escape some of the allergens in the air that have been bothering me.

My favorite part of the Republican Debate that I saw last night (I watched during the commercials of the other shows i was watching):

Marco: You never answer a question.  All you do is repeat yourself.

Donald:  I do not repeat myself.  I do not repeat myself.

Marco:  !!!!

Why doesn't one of those geniuses just say:  "You can't run the Federal government like a business.  The American people are not going to be your employees.  You are not running for BOSS of the United States."

Of course now Trump's base is so solid and strong, that they won't be swayed no matter what is said.  And that makes things even worse than they have to be.

Last night's GOP debaclete:  I had heard it suggested that Rubio and Cruz might do a tag team attack on the Donald.  And it was so.

Was it Carson who said, "Somebody please attack me!"

DR JRand:  Members of Congress already think they are NOT ANSWERABLE to their electorate.  Is it any surprise that Donald, in his infinite egoism, believes he's running for "Fuhrer"?

The last time a book had me dreaming, I woke up at dawn one morning and rushed into the bathroom to look at my neck in the mirror.   I was reading Stephen King's "Salem's Lot" at the time.
