Funny that for, I don't know, ever since mics came into being and singers used them, they somehow got along fine without onstage monitors.  Now, not even those are good enough they have to have an earpiece.  And now that's not good enough so they need two earpieces.  And then you listen to their voices and blechhh.

And I walked out of the room during that last song - that was a nadir.  Truly.  And what did they bleep from Kevin Hart.

One of the hallmarks of a good comic is to know when the joke is over - no one on this show has learned that simple comedy lesson.

It's disappointing, of course, as this night used to be the most fun all year.  But then the Oscars were on a Monday, they were in late March or early April and there was stuff to talk about all night long.  Plus we hadn't had all these inane defections to Facebook, which, by the way, has become a place for old people to relive their pasts and act like high schoolers and spout their political crap.  Young people have moved far away from it and who can blame them.

Kate Winslet's glasses were really tilted.

I noticed, because I have a pair that feels like they're tilted, even though they aren't.  The way hers actually looked are the way mine feel.

I saw Mark Rylance in a Broadway show several years ago but I can't think of the name of it.   I do remember how nice he was at the stage door.
