Certainly our lowest rated Oscar partay in over a decade.  Amazing to me that people no longer come just for the fun.

Did she say gender confirmation surgery?  Your gender is assigned by your DNA - it can't be changed.

Actually, your sex is assigned by DNA.  Gender is what you feel (or know) you are.  My issue with Julianne Moore using the term "gender confirmation surgery" when describing movie is that I think it's a very modern concept.  They didn't start using that term until very recently.

I'm now going to watch some shows that are recorded on my DVR.  I'm going to start with episode three of "The X-Files."

I call it sex change, just like they used to - I don't need to use all these ignorant and rather inane new terms they come up with.  What a world.

Can we at least achieve 500 postings?  Is that too much to ask?

Last year was our lowest Oscar partay and congrats to all in helping us do worse this year - by over 100 posts.  Pretty disheartening if you ask me.

You can't force people to have fun and attend a partay when they are determined to do anything but.

Just as I think we will come nowhere near last year's twenty-one pages - and that was our WORST (until this evening).

Ah for the glory pre-Facebook, non-defection days - where one year we had the best day in the history of the site with over 2100 posts in a single Oscar Bash.  That remains the best day we've had.  You should go to stats and click on it - you'll be amazed.

Well, I just looked.  Want to know how it used to be?  Here's how it used to be:  We had 845 posts PRIOR to the show starting.  69 pages before the evening was through.  That's how it used to be.  The pre-show posts were hilarious - they're still hilarious.  That was in 2007 - I'm not sure Facebook in its current incarnation existed yet, in fact I know it didn't because the first Hofstetter book was coming out and that was MySpace.  What a difference eight years makes.

One of my staff is having her 70th...yes, 70th! birthday next month, and her daughter sent an e-invitation to get people to decorate a quilt square that will be assembled for her birthday.  I need to decorate the square by tomorrow and I have no idea how to decorate it.
