Have fun in Vegas, DR Jane.  It's one of my least favorite places on the planet, but I'd go there to visit relatives.

Thank you.  It isn't myfavorite place either.  Keith like it.  This trip I am finally going to see Hoover Dam.

I just lost a good 40 minutes I'll never get back with the stupidest customer service rep ever hired by Citibank. After two days of really wonderful reps, this lady was a total embarrassment.  I'm trying to get a Fed Ex tracking number for my new debit card PIN.  I don't believe this moron even knows what a tracking number is!

This afternoon, a camera crew is coming to my house to film an interview with me about Basil Rathbone. (You may recall that I wrote a book about him about 40 years ago, which is still available in paperback.) The interview will appear on the UK Blu-ray release of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES.

The BAD NEWS is that this edition of HOUND won't be available in the USA. The GOOD NEWS is that I am being paid to do the interview.

 :)

Congrats on getting the interview, and getting paid for it!

Fighting the good fight here.  Fortunately I don't feel sick in the slightest, except for tiredness, but my voice is in the gutter.  I'm staying in, staying warm, and popping everything in sight.

The first thing that I thought of was, "Popping pussies into pies??"

Catching up a little, but so much more catching up on old posts to do -

Jrand, so glad you got the book so fast! Hope you like it!

I forgot to mention that I got it, also!  Thanks, Fred!

I just saw on Facebook that the wonderful music director Jack Lee has died. I really liked him.  He was tough, but really good.

I'm on the phone with another Citibank rep and I don't understand this mess: if they can Fed Ex something, then they should be able to locate a goddam tracking number for it.

Second pension check - did not arrive.  I think my stupid mailman lost it or gave it to the wrong house.  Who knows?  It's outrageous - it was mailed last FRIDAY.  Now I have to wait until the tenth to get a replacement, which I'll drive over and get - then I'm changing the address to the UPS Store - that USPS person delivers on time and never screws up like this.

I now have the Fed Ex tracking number, and i've learned four things from Fed Ex:
  1.  A delivery attempt was made at 1:35 and no notice was left for me of the attempt.
  2.  Another attempt will be made tomorrow but I must be here to sign for it.
  3.  No, they cannot because of the customer's restrictions leave it for me at my local Fed Ex office; if i want to pick it up, I must make the trip to the Bronx.
  4.  If I'd like to schedule an delivery attempt at a specific time tomorrow, it will cost me $10.00. Screw you, Fed Ex.

So, I have been locked out of my Citibank account for four days now, thanks to this theft.  i cannot access any money and my frustration level is at an all-tie high.  I'd like some people dead. Now.

Can't you have direct deposit, BK?  I get a postal notice about a week earlier that my pension will be deposited on the first day of the month.

The checks are mailed from Burbank.  That's ten minutes from here.  And yet, the one I got took three days to get here.  That's service.  But it's just dandy that they keep raising their damn prices, that's peachy.

That's faster than New York mail delivery; it takes 4-5 days for a letter to get from City Center on 55th Street to my apartment on 82.

Good question.  It would be much easier.

I did not think I would like direct deposit - but now that I have it, I am very happy with it.  I can always check my balance online - and on holidays and weekends, if a deposit is scheduled, it usually is put in EARLY!

Basil Rathbone and few other Broadway and Hollywood names seem to be characters in an old novel called QUICKSILVER by Fitzroy Davis which is most entertaining.

DR GINNY I have been coughing for weeks.  Yesterday I bought a Walgreen's brand cough medicine.  It made me COUGH a lot after the first dose.   But I have not coughed all day.....

Walgreen's Cough & Chest Congestion DM

And what did I just buy but Shop Rite's "Adult Tussin DM".  I think that's what they call it.  These are all the Robitussin DM formula at a fraction of the price of the name brand.  Mine was 1/3 the price.

And I'm now taking the Kroger version.  We'll see if it works any better than the 2 prescriptions I just finished that did little more than make me groggy.
