Well, you've read the notes, the notes were lovelier than lovely, and now it is time for you to post until the lovelier than lovely cows come home.

I rarely go back and read posts later in the day, but sometimes I remember to go back days later and see what was said. I finally got around to reading posts from March 5th.
I, too, was taught to clean my plate. When I first started trying to lose weight last year, I got a package of leftover containers from Smart and Final and snuck them into restaurants. When my food arrived, I immediately split it in half before I even started eating. Thus, I would always leave a clean plate. Now sometimes, I sheepishly ask the waiter to bring me a to-go container when he brings our food and I just wait for it before I start eating. If I tried to just eat only half after the food arrived, that wouldn't work. It tasted too good and I couldn't stop eating.
Mark keeps bugging me to go back and find the post where Bruce says he couldn't find parking at the bank, therefore he's moving to Sherman Oaks. WTF?!

BK, congrats on the lovely day yesterday.

We all need a greater percentage of days like that in our lives.

TOD:

I grew up in Seattle; lived there until I graduated from the UW at 22.

When I was old enough, I spent all my Saturdays (and some Sundays) in Seattle's downtown movie theaters.  They were large, beautiful, ornate houses and, as I understand it, virtually all of them are gone now.  [I haven't been back to Seattle since 2004 and I really have no plans to return.]

The most memorable of these theaters was the Orpheum, which (I believe) was built as a vaudeville house.  I saw many wonderful movies there, as well as many National Companies of Broadway plays.  A large hotel replaced the Orpheum years ago.

The Seattle that I remember no longer exists.     :(

Good morning, all!

I still feel queasy. I hope it's a passing "bug" and that I am not really getting sick.  I've been rather lucky this past winter, but everyone at physical therapy was either sick or just getting over something.

Thanks! I am now dressed, so I guess I will go to the post office and market.  The urge to return to bed is mighty strong, though.  I cannot stop yawning.

It is nice and warm and sunny here this morning......thunderstorms later this week, but that's okay.

Most of the buildings in my small town are still around.  Their facades have been updated.....a very few new buildings in town to be sure.

I have requested a container for food splitting at the beginning of a meal.  I have done that more offten for desset, just taking a couple of bites and then putting it away for the next day or two.

I guess the new cast recording of Fiddler on the Roof will have the Motel and Tzeitel singing "Dear, Sweet Sewing Machine." From the reaction in Playbill.com, you'd think it was the very first recording.

Thanks!  I suspect I may actually be coming down with a cold, which would be my first in a couple of years, thanks to a lot of zinc and vitamin-C. I hope it's not my therapist's walking pneumonia!

I'm ushering what should be a fun concert tonight: Mavis Staples with Nick Lowe.
