The lost $500 check that was eaten by the Citibank ATM has at last cleared with Citibank and I am off the hook. Big relief!

I'm back in my second session with FINALE.  I don't think I even commented on the first one the other day.

But man, the things I could say if this weren't a family friendly site.  In short, the learning curve on this thing is a BITCH.

Hugs to Jrand. I'm glad you had as much time with your father as you did.

I bought a new Macbook, but apparently my Time Warner password isn't what I thought it was. I'll have to get the TW guy out here to reset it. THEN, hopefully, I'll be up and running with the new computer. This old one has been holding up remarkably--and I hope it continues to do so.

We have a lunar eclipse coming on the 23rd. Some years these eclipses have really been disruptive. Hopefully, this one won't be.

Oh, I lucked out a bit on the Mac purchase. I called MacMall because you can usually save a few dollars by buying from them, but they didn't have the models I was interested in in stock. It had never occurred to me to go to BestBuy, although there's one right near me. They turned up in a Google search, had the models I was debating between in stock, and even had MacMallish prices ($50-60 less than retail). When I checked their website on Thursday they had a 3-day sale on and the price was considerably lower. Yay!

For all the Southern Floridians here or know people.

I will be doing a reading of Harvey Fierstein's Safe Sex this Thursday at the World AIDS Museum and Education Center in Fort Lauderdale. I will be appearing in "Manny and Jake". It is a fundraiser for the museum. Donation asked is $10. There will be a Q & A afterwards and wine and desserts will be served.

Congratulations!  I so look forward to moving to a Mac one of these days.  Which model/size/whatever did you choose?

Watching Italian group Il Volo--the 3 young singers who appeared with Barbra in 2012-2013.  They're now old enough to have mustaches.

They sang Volare and it sounded good but it was too fast, I think. I always like Bobby Rydell's version.

I need to go to Costco this week to get a hot dog.  I love their hot dogs

Just saw an article online about the great prices for their snack bar foods.  The only thing I might try would be the cheese pizza.  Have you ever had that?

I went to Costco last week and got a refund of the portion of the membership fee that goes towards "executive membership."  I had only gotten a rebate of $22 (they give you a certain percentage (is it 5%?) of your purchases for a year (well, it was more like 10 months for me)), so I gave them the rebate check back and they refunded $55 in cash.  I explained that the woman who opened my membership last year convinced me to get executive membership even though I didn't think I would spend enough to make it worth my while.  They were very nice about it.

We saw "10 Cloverfield Lane" today-excellent.  If you don't know anything about it, don't let anyone tell you anything.  Make your own decisions while watching.

I finally finished reading The Goldfinch, which is very long.  I thought the first half was great, truly a beautiful, wonderful novel.  Then I felt rather bogged down by it and was relieved to finish it.  The writing did stay consistently beautiful, it was the story that dragged for me.

Was it the drugs? I don't want to give away anything for non readers,  but I sort of felt something similar.
